DUTIES OF POSITION: Assists with the planning, coordination, leading, controlling, and evaluating of home health services and assists the Director/Area Director of Clinical Services with the coordination and management of home health clinical delivery. Acts on behalf of the Director/Area Director of Clinical Services as a liaison with the medical community, clients, and branch personnel. RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: 1. Provides daily supervision of nurses and home health aides to ensure the quality of services is within the required plan of care., 2. Initiates and reviews the clinical content, diagnoses, medical history, medications, and other statuses from client records., 3. Appraises staff performance during their probationary period and annually with the Director of Nursing; provides the teaching and counseling necessary to enhance the delivery of services and the professional development of nursing and home health aide staff., 4. Assists with the orientation of new clinical staff to familiarize them with policies and procedures., 6. Conducts client visits in the appropriate setting as needed., 7. Initiates in-home supervisory visits of clinical staff as needed., 8. The ability to handle on-call, which is after work hours., 9. Maintains confidentiality of records within the scope of their position., 10. Participates in any required functions in the absence of, or request by, the Director of Nursing., 11. Works closely with the electronic medical record (EMR) to ensure client electronic charts are maintained, updated, and remain in compliance with company standards., 12. Understands details around the knowledge of clinical workflow as it pertains to the use of EMR., 13. Participates in formal and informal problem-solving processes to meet the EMR computer education needs and established outcomes for users., 14. Provides trainer sessions for peers and field staff to expand training team expertise., 15. Provides coaching support to new staff to ensure compliance and consistency as it relates to the EMR., 16. Conducts EMR chart audits., 17. Prepares and submits a course of study including program objectives, student performance objectives, and lesson plans for training in accordance with all regulations and company policies., 18. Plans, provides, and supervises training in a classroom setting, informing students of standard best practices and laws surrounding specialized hands-on nursing skills., 19. The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing nursing services each shift and functions as a nursing supervisor. This position provides daily supervision of staff on duty during operational hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. The Home Therapy Registered Nurse -- Traveler, as qualified by federal and state regulations, travels to various U.S. Renal Care locations to provide patient training and ongoing support for all patients choosing a home dialysis modality. Part-time is a minimum of 2-12 HR shifts per week. This position is offering a $5,000 Hiring Incentive for qualified RNs that have not worked at Parkland within 1 year. Primary Purpose The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, that focuses on a particular patient population(s)/specific health conditions, by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. Primary Purpose On a PRN/Float Pool basis, responsible for performing nuclear medicine processes according to patient needs, Parkland procedures and other regulatory agency standards. Minimum Specifications Education -Must be a graduate of a JCERT accredited school and or program. -Must be a graduate of an accredited college program in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Science, or other allied health care field. Experience -None Equivalent Education and/or Experience Certification/Registration/Licensure -Must have current ARRT (N) Certification OR current CNMT certification. -Must have a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or Texas Medical Board. Incumbents whose certifications expire(d) between December 2015 and February 2016 will have until February 28, 2016 to renew. -Must have a current Healthcare Provider (BLS level) CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross Rescuer, Military Training Network. Skills or Special Abilities -Must have a thorough working knowledge of the field of nuclear medicine technology, and those aspects of chemistry, physics, mathematics and biomedical sciences that relate to nuclear medicine technology and its growth. -Must have basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies. -Must be able to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines. -Must be able to operate Gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners, nuclear medicine computers, and Cardiac Stress equipment. -Must have basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments. Responsibilities 1. Acquires adequate knowledge of patient's medical history and analyzes emergency patient conditions, instructs patients prior to and during procedures and initiates life saving first-aid prior to physician's arrival to ensure appropriate patient care., 2. Performs cardiac imaging and assists physicians in the performance of stress exercise examinations to provide diagnostic tools for physicians., 3. Calculates, prepares, and administers radiopharmaceutical dosages and other agents in conjunction with nuclear medicine procedures to patients ensuring compliance with Parkland, Texas Department of Health, and other regulatory guidelines. Accesses and handles selected medications., 4. Performs quality control measures on nuclear medicine equipment and devices including troubleshooting and maintenance ensuring quality management programs for all procedures., 5. Confers with Physicians to determine appropriate procedures, in order to ensure effective operations., 6. Documents all operations of the laboratory including the receipt and disposition of radioactive materials, instrument and procedural quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records. Exercises judgement in the performance of scheduled examinations and procedures to ensure compliance with established guidelines., 7. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer (internal as well as external) satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in the support of the overall goals and mission of the Parkland., 8. Provides clinical instructions for Radiology students and residents to ensure that all health care providers are well informed of all radiologic information., 9. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in the nuclear medicine field by attending seminars or workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and maintaining licensure in Nuclear Medicine from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
