STi is a\nminority-owned Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) focused on delivering\nflexible, mission-driven solutions that help Federal customers solve complex\noperational challenges. \n \n POSITION OVERVIEW \n STi is seeking an Engineering Technician V to provide senior\nhands-on technical support for submarine PSSE maintenance, certification,\nroutine operational support, and non-ordnance handling evolutions supporting\nMARMC Code 271. \n \n This role supports\npreventive and corrective maintenance, certification, operational procedures,\nwaterfront support, handling equipment readiness, shipping/receiving\nevolutions, and PSSE condition tracking for submarine support equipment located\nprimarily in Norfolk, VA and Groton, CT. The Engineering Technician V is\nexpected to bring strong hands-on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and PSSE\ntechnical experience, along with the maturity to serve as a senior technician\nduring waterfront and non-ordnance handling operations. \n \n The ideal candidate\nhas direct Navy submarine, shipyard, weapons handling support,\nordnance/non-ordnance support equipment, weight handling equipment, or PSSE\nmaintenance experience. \n \n PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \n Responsibilities\ninclude: \n • Perform preventive\nand corrective maintenance and certification support for submarine PSSE\nequipment, Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms, weapon cradles,\nballast cans, VLS/VPT platforms, munitions trailers, handling slings, beams,\nsupport gear, and related equipment. \n • Conduct\nmaintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, operational testing, and\ndocumentation in accordance with technical manuals, PMS schedules, drawings,\nTLMDs, MRCs, and approved procedures. \n • Support\nmaintenance and operational procedures for AURVS, AURES, Mk 60 AURS, AURBb,\nballast cans, TOTEMS, MK-48 fitment shapes, TOMFISH, TMDs, AERO 51 class\nmunitions trailers, MK-30/MK-34/CNU 308/Mk 793 containers, and related\nPSSE/non-ordnance support equipment. \n • Support blasting,\npainting, structural repair, corrosion repair, hardware replacement, grating\nrepair, grab rail repair, support leg repair, bushing replacement, and other\napproved maintenance actions on Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance\nPlatforms. \n • Prepare condition\nreport inputs identifying required repair or replacement actions before\ncorrective maintenance is performed. \n • Support\ndepot-level maintenance when assigned and approved by Government stakeholders. \n • Maintain\ncertification status by performing required maintenance and minor repairs and\ndocumenting all work performed. \n • Maintain HAZMAT\nlockers and support safe handling/storage of materials required for PSSE\nmaintenance. \n • Maintain or update\ndatabases reflecting PSSE location, maintenance status, condition code, and\nrelated equipment status information. \n • Provide waterfront\nand pier-side technical support during delivery, loading/off-loading, storage,\nhandling, canning, un-canning, movement, transportation, and shipping/receiving\nof PSSE equipment and inert components. \n • Verify handling\nequipment, lifting equipment, vehicles, forklifts, bomb carts, and associated\nsupport equipment have proper maintenance and current certification before\nhandling evolutions. \n • Support\nnon-ordnance handling coordination among MARMC, CSS-6/8, Naval Munitions\nCommand, NSSF New London, and other stakeholders. \n • Attend pier\nde-confliction meetings and support preparation of weekly handling schedules\nand equipment requests. \n • Serve as part of\nqualified non-ordnance handling teams supporting submarines berthed at Naval\nStation Norfolk and other approved locations. \n • Assist with\nmovement and transportation of hull-owned equipment within authorized distance\nlimitations. \n • Work safely in\nshipboard, waterfront, industrial, maintenance, and confined-space environments\nin accordance with customer, OSHA, PPE, and local activity requirements. \n \n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS \n U.S. Citizenship\nrequired. Active Secret clearance required. \n • Minimum 8 years of\nfull-time hands-on experience in the design, installation, test, and repair of\nmechanical, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems/equipment. \n • Minimum 6 years of\nfull-time hands-on technical experience within the last 10 years in the\noperation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of PSSE incorporated\nin Submarine PSSE Non-Ordnance Handling systems. \n • Hands-on\nexperience performing maintenance, inspection, test, repair, documentation, or\ncertification support using technical manuals, drawings, PMS, MRCs, TLMDs, or\nsimilar maintenance controls. \n • Ability to support\nwaterfront, shipboard, industrial, maintenance, and non-ordnance handling\noperations. \n • Ability to work\neffectively as part of a technical team and coordinate with Government, fleet,\nshipyard, squadron, and contractor personnel. \n • Strong attention\nto detail and ability to document maintenance, equipment status, condition\ncodes, and corrective actions accurately. \n • Ability to work\naboard U.S. Navy ships and in shipyard/waterfront environments. \n • Ability to walk,\nclimb ladders/stairs, carry tools/materials, navigate confined or crowded\nshipboard spaces, and work in varying environmental conditions. \n • Ability to obtain\nand maintain required local activity training, OSHA/safety training, CPR\ncertification, PPE compliance, and customer-required onboarding credentials. \n • Ability to travel\nbetween work sites as required. \n \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \n • Prior experience\nsupporting MARMC, RMC, NAVSEA, Navy shipyards, submarine squadrons, NSSF New\nLondon, Naval Station Norfolk, Groton, or submarine maintenance activities. \n • Direct experience\nwith submarine PSSE, non-ordnance handling equipment, VLS/VPT platforms,\nMissile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms, ballast cans,\nAUR/AURB/AURVS/AURES, TOTEMS, TMDs, weapon cradles, munitions trailers, slings,\nbeams, or weight handling equipment. \n • Experience\nsupporting Navy waterfront handling evolutions, pier services, shipboard\non-load/off-load operations, canning/uncanning, stenciling, shipping/receiving,\nor transportation support. \n • Experience\nverifying maintenance and certification status of handling equipment, lifting\nequipment, forklifts, bomb carts, vehicles, or related support equipment. \n • Familiarity with\nHAZMAT locker management, OSHA shipyard requirements, PPE, confined-space\nprecautions, or shipboard industrial safety requirements. \n • Experience\nmaintaining equipment status databases, condition code records, inventory\nrecords, or certification documentation. \n • Prior senior\ntechnician, work lead, shop lead, team lead, or hands-on field lead experience. \n \n WORK ENVIRONMENT \n • Primary place of\nperformance is MARMC / Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA. \n • Work may include\nNorfolk, VA; Groton, CT; Navy shipyards; submarines; piers; waterfront areas;\nU.S. Naval facilities; contractor facilities; and approved travel locations. \n • Work requires use\nof required PPE and compliance with shipboard, industrial, OSHA, and local\nsafety requirements. \n • Some work may\nrequire confined-space, aloft, waterfront, shipboard, or industrial maintenance\nenvironment access. \n \n Keywords: Engineering Technician V, PSSE,\nsubmarine, non-ordnance handling, MARMC, Navy maintenance, submarine support\nequipment, shipyard, waterfront, VLS, VPT, ballast cans, AURVS, AURES, TMD,\nTOTEMS, weight handling equipment, Secret clearance \n \n EEO: STi is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
