Job Details Job Location El Segundo, CA Position Type Full Time Salary Range $85000.00 - $125000.00 Salary/year Job Shift Day Description SUMMARY The Senior Manufacturing Engineer requires all hands-on to solve complex manufacturing challenges, leads, and mentors team members. Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes. Works directly on the shop floor, troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. Ensures all projects are driven through all phases of development and execution while collaborating with vendors, customers, and upper management as needed. DUTIES \n • Provide engineering and manufacturing mentorship, guidance and support for machinists in achieving production goals. \n, • Support product design and process improvements to drive enhancements.\n, • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence on the shop floor.\n, • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to resolve manufacturing challenges.\n, • Take full ownership of manufacturing projects, from initial concept and design through development, implementation, and production.\n, • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and time requirements.\n, • Act as the primary point of contact for project-related issues, coordinating with all management and team members to ensure success.\n, • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.\n, • Lead the development of work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.\n, • Work with Quality Assurance in conducting root cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.\n, • Actively engage in day-to-day production to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.\n, • Communicate with customers to address manufacturing requirements, resolve technical issues, and provide updates on project progress when needed.\n, • Collaborate daily with supporting departments, including production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering, to ensure timely delivery of products in the correct quantities.\n, • Serve as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure seamless communication and alignment on priorities.\n\n Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS \n • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience).\n, • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.\n, • Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes.\n, • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and willingness to work directly on the shop floor.\n, • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.\n, • Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing teams and shop floor personnel.\n\n Preferred Qualifications: \n • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.\n, • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.\n, • Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in aerospace manufacturing.\n, • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)\n\n Personal Attributes \n • Team player, patient, and an excellent listener.\n, • Able to prioritize, make timely decisions, and work effectively in a fast paced environment.\n, • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\n, • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to interface across all levels of the organization, including customers and vendors.\n, • Hands-on attitude with a willingness to "get their hands dirty" in a fast-paced production environment.\n, • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.\n
