Will actively promote the health, safety and well-being of the people supported by providing hands-on assistance, mentoring and teaching independent living skills and providing services as directed in their Life Plan. In this position, you will: • Respect the human dignity and uniqueness of the people you support. Recognize each person you support is valuable and advocate their value to others., • Implement and document the delivery of all Residential Habilitation services which may include but is not limited to: person supported skill development training in a variety of areas including: medical concerns, vocational concerns and recreational services., • Implementation of all person supported behavioral support plans/strategies and documentation of person supported behaviors., • Support the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people you support. Encourage growth and recognize the autonomy of the people you support while being attentive in reducing their risk of harm. Provide personal care assistance to ensure maximum level of supervision and to promote the highest level of health, safety and independence., • Assist people supported in performing daily living tasks, including, but not limited to, room cleaning and household chores. The staff will be required to perform housekeeping duties within the program., • Ensure that program environments meet the highest quality standards as per OPWDD guidelines and report any concerns to supervisor., • Assist people supported in food preparation; including preparing meal plans and shopping for supplies., • Adhere to Agency systems designed to promote organizational efficiencies as well as compliance with ACLD policies, procedures and regulations governing programs., • Supervise people supported within the program and community. Intensiveness of the supervision determined by the specific needs of the people supported., • Complete and review assigned reports, logs, and documentation in accordance with ACLD Corporate Compliance Policy., • Assist the people supported with the use of their personal allowance, including oversight in shopping, budgeting and managing their income., • Interact positively with families, Care Managers and other outside providers while assisting the people you support in developing and maintaining relationships. Provides requested data, information and support for evaluations and program reviews., • Organizes campus operations around improvement of instruction by maintaining safe and orderly environments., • Analyzes program facilities, equipment, and materials and makes recommendations for needed changes. Manages campus facilities, supports safety, crisis, and evacuation plans, and ensures the security of building along with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education., • Supervises and evaluates administrative assistant., • Provides support to academic program leadership in scheduling and hiring of faculty at the Long Island Campus. Course Instruction and Instructional Leadership (40% of Professional Effort) • Provides lead and assist laboratory instruction for diagnosis and technique courses in collaboration with the Seneca Falls full-time faculty., • Uses educational best practices in laboratory instruction., • Mentors adjunct faculty in educational best practices in laboratory instruction., • Provides student advising and mentorship., • Engages in ongoing classroom observations of lecture and laboratory instruction to promote academic excellence., • Proctors examinations. QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position: Education and Training • Possess an earned D.C., Ph.D., or terminal degree in a related field., • If D.C., licensed to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic in New York State for teaching clinical science subjects, e.g. CLS, DIA, and TCH courses. Experience 1. Minimum of three years’ experience teaching., 2. Minimum of three years' experience in clinical practice, preferred., 3.
