Job Description Subaru of Portland, a dealership part of the O’Brien Auto Group, is looking for a Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. As a Used Car Manager, you are responsible for managing our used car inventory, which involves researching, purchasing, and pricing vehicles. This position will also oversee the sales staff, helping them meet monthly goals and encouraging leadership development within your team. This position requires strong communication and relationship management skills to get the most out of your employees and the best deal from wholesale dealerships. Our ideal candidate has prior experience with used cars, preferably in a supervisory role. This position pays a base of $5,000 plus commission per month. Responsibilities to Include: • Sales of certified pre-owned and other used cars., • Manage and train sales team which #1 in the district in CSI, measured by factory monthly summary report., • Manage, hire, and train a high-quality sales staff with a focus on high volume, high gross, and high CSI (all hiring to be approved by GM)., • Involve all sales team members in a weekly game plan., • Maintain used car write-up, appointment and sales boards., • Obtain monthly production numbers from management and all staff and combine with results., • Physical walk of inventory and inspection of used cars., • Develop work schedule., • Assist in training of the following:, • BDC, • AutoTown, • 3 prospects daily, • 10 follow-up and 20 cold calls daily, • Phone script, • Walk around, • 7 steps to the sale, • Delivery process, • Write up, • CPO product knowledge, • Establish and maintain a used car walk around for salespeople., • Maintain and establish a high level of intensity., • Daily sales meeting to review previous day., • Recruit and pre-screen potential sales consultants for the used car group who have the potential to become full new car sales and leasing consultants., • Train on a daily basis the phone script, 7 steps of the sale, certified vehicles, delivery procedures, closing skills and manufacturer certification., • Motivate and maintain a well-trained quality used car sales team., • Produce minimum quota of 100 cars per month from the used car group., • Take turns on all customers who visit the lot whenever possible., • Demonstrate expert closing skills., • Demonstrate expert knowledge of manufacturer certified pre-owned., • Perform other duties as assigned by management., • Regular attendance is essential., • Work in cooperative, positive, & professional manner with all personnel in the company., • Treat members of the public and customers in a courteous and non-discriminatory manner. Requirements and Qualifications: • Several years of automotive sales experience, • Strong communication and negotiation skills, • Sales and trend forecasting abilities. Equipment/Machines/Tools Typically Used: Phone, computer, adding machine, copier, calculator, stapler, fax machine, pencils/pens, letter opener, scissors, and rulers. Physical Demands: Frequent twisting and/or turning of trunk, reaching, and handling of objects; intermittent standing, walking, and sitting; infrequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting of 10 lbs or less. Repair collision damaged vehicles according to OEM specifications and company standards. Inform estimator if additional work is needed. Stay up to date with required I-Car and Company Safety Training. File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools. Mix polyester resins and hardeners to be used in restoring damaged areas. Fit and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and grind down welds to smooth them, using power grinders and other tools. Attend all training sessions and meetings. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Obey all company, OSHA, WISHA, environmental and other rules, regulations, and automotive laws Responsible for quality of workmanship. Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 2 years of experience in a certified Body Repair Shop. Own personal tools. I-CAR or ASE Certifications are a bonus.
