Position Summary The Senior Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on HR professional who owns core HR operations while serving as a strategic partner to leaders and employees. This role is responsible for maintaining a compliant, high-performing workplace through strong employee relations, policy stewardship, HRIS ownership, and operational excellence. While operationally grounded, this role also contributes to organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and scalable HR practices. The ideal candidate exercises sound independent judgment demonstrates deep knowledge of California employment law, and thrives in both tactical execution and strategic partnership. Key Responsibilities HRIS Ownership & Workforce Data Governance • Own administration, integrity, and optimization of HRIS (UKG), • Execute employee lifecycle transactions (hires, status changes, compensation updates, separations), • Maintain audit-ready HR documentation and personnel records, • Produce workforce and compliance reporting (headcount, turnover, LOA tracking, etc.), • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and managers, • Conduct and support workplace investigations and disciplinary processes, • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, and risk mitigation, • Interpret and enforce policies in compliance with California employment law, • Administer Leave of Absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, and company leaves), • Manage workers' compensation claims and documentation, • Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment regulations, • Serve as operational backup to the Payroll Manager, • Review timekeeping, attendance, and wage practices for compliance, • Own coordination of the annual performance review process, • Support talent development and engagement initiatives, • Administer benefit enrollments, life event changes, and open enrollment, • Reconcile benefits billing and eligibility reporting, • Lead onboarding execution to ensure a seamless and compliant new hire experience, • Ensure completion of employment documentation and system setup, • Drive HR process optimization and scalable best practices, • Support rollout of compliance, talent, and engagement initiatives, • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, • Strong working knowledge of California employment law (wage & hour, LOA, investigations, employee classification, documentation, terminations), • Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment in resolving workplace issues, • Proven experience administering HRIS systems and maintaining employee data integrity (UKG preferred), • Experience conducting workplace investigations, • Ability to influence managers and operate with discretion and sound judgment, • Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills, • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information, • Experience administering FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and workers' compensation programs, • Payroll exposure and ability to serve as backup for payroll processing, • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification, • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth or technology-driven environment, • Experience supporting multi-state or California-heavy workforce populations We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including: • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), • Company-paid Life and Disability insurance, • Generous Paid Time Off and company holidays, • Paid Parental Leave, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), • Career growth opportunities in a rapidly scaling company
