This is a place where all you need is a big smile, like to have fun, and want to positively impact children's lives! This Position will work with Kindergarten - 6th graders. We need a teacher to lead able to lead a classroom/group of 15* students. Our program is both an after-school care and a summer Camp. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and investing their time in children's lives. It is not a requirement, but we are looking for a person who is 21 years old or older and would feel comfortable driving a small transit bus for field trips as well as chaperoning them. Our program needs staff who can work a consistent Monday through Friday position, 11:30 am - 6 pm or 2 pm - 6 pm. We give a lot of creative freedom to our teachers to make their classroom their own, and alter it to fit their strengths and the children's interests. We treat all our staff like professionals and provide access to training and tools to help develop wonderful teachers. We have great facilities (Large playground and full-size gym), stocked supplies, low student-to-teacher ratios, and work planning times. We are looking for a nurturing, loving person who wants to get down and play. We value people with good character and a good heart. Many of our staff have stayed with us for 10+ years, and we have fostered a community of experienced veteran teachers who really care about children! A caring person who is comfortable working in a Christian environment. Teachers must have or develop knowledge of early childhood developmental, spiritual, physical, social and emotional needs and competence in working with young children.2. Be a high school graduate or its equivalent and preferably have at least two years experience working with young children.3. Provide the Weekday Program with a record of training and experience and three references.4. Be mentally, physically, and emotionally able to assume assigned duties, including being able to lift at least 30 pounds and participate in 30 minutes of vigorous activity with children.5. Show competency, good judgment, and self-control in working with children and co-workers.6. Relate to the children, parents or guardians, and other staff members with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.7. Not have been indicted or been the subject of criminal complaint, nor shall be subject of deferred adjudication.8. Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.9.
