Job Description Job description University Instructors (UI) is seeking dynamic face-to-face Lead Instructors with a passion for supporting students in grades K-12th. In this role, under the direction of the University Instructors’ team, the Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment where students can develop their academic, social, and emotional skills. This role involves planning and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience. Curriculum Development and Instruction: • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards., • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and participation., • Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students., • Integrate technology and other innovative tools to enhance learning experiences., • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). Student Assessment and Evaluation: • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement., • Provide timely and constructive feedback regarding academic performance and behavior., • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions., • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). Classroom Management: • Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and expectations to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment., • Address and manage behavioral issues promptly and effectively., • Create a supportive and respectful classroom culture that fosters mutual respect and cooperation., • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). Collaboration and Professional Development: • Work closely with colleagues, including assistant teachers, special education staff, and administration, to support student learning and development., • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements., • Lead or contribute to school committees, events, and initiatives as needed., • Submit records related to attendance, student progress, and other UI program requirements on time., • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s)., • Attend evening, virtual ILC meetings. Knowledge and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)., • Must meet the Content Knowledge standards required for a provisional teaching license; valid teaching certification in education preferred;, • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting., • Strong understanding of secondary education best practices., • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues., • Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students. Education and Work Experience: As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to have the following: • Be eligible for a provisional state teaching license in the state of South Carolina., • Be local to the area., • Two years of experience leading instruction.
