Our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving one of Massachusetts' most vibrant and diverse SouthCoast communities, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our dedicated clinical team. NHSC Loan Repayment — Up to $100,000 As a qualifying FQHC in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA), our site is eligible for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program. Physicians who qualify can receive up to $100,000 in tax-free student loan repayment over two years. For most physicians, this adds $25,000–$70,000 in real annual take-home value — something no private practice or hospital system can match. Competitive Compensation • Base salary: $240,000–$260,000 depending on experience, • Sign-on bonus available - $20,000, • Moving Allowance, • Full benefits including health, dental, vision, malpractice coverage, CME allowance, and PTO About the Role Clinical Care • Comprehensive patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for adult patients, • Triage and prioritize patient needs across acute, chronic, and preventive care, • Manage emergency and urgent care situations with clinical competence, • Perform minor procedures: suturing, splinting, abscess I&D, joint injections, • Develop and manage care plans for patients with chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, etc.), • Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, • Coordinate referrals to specialists, imaging, and external testing, • Serve diverse, underserved patient populations with culturally competent care, • Document thoroughly in Epic EMR, • Collaborate with nursing, medical assistants, behavioral health, and social work teams, • Review and act on lab results, medication refills, and patient messages, • Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to the care team, • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards We are a mission-driven FQHC with more than 50 years of history serving New Bedford and the surrounding SouthCoast region.
