American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Hospital setting with multiple Med/Surg Telemetry units, including medical, surgical, cardiac, ortho, and observation units, • Typical patient ratios are 1:5-6, surging to 1:7-8, • Work schedule consists of 1900-0700 night shifts with every other weekend required, • Travelers are required to work 75% of holidays, • Floating required to all units within scope and to other hospitals within the designated region as needed, • Epic EMR system is used; Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for med dispensing, and Phillips monitors are standard equipment, • Orientation includes facility and unit onboarding with two departmental days, • Patients include those with cardiac, respiratory, surgical, stroke, diabetic, and behavioral health needs, • Position provides support to multiple inpatient units based on facility needs, • Daily team support includes CNA, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist, • No telemetry monitor tech support provided, • Travelers required to comply with navy scrub dress code, • Free parking is available for staff, • Up to 6 days of requested time off can be approved (excluding holidays) if contract hours are maintained, • Floating between facilities during shift is paid as part of the regular shift\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications, • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required, • Strong Med/Tele skills, including stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, IV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and PCA pump management, • Ability to manage medication drips, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids, • Ortho experience and spinal precautions required for 7North/South Ortho Surgical unit, • Epic EMR experience preferred, • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility, • First-time travelers will be considered, but are not preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
