Job Description Job Title: TIG Welder Job Description This role focuses on precision TIG welding of small hand-sized components for aerospace and defense applications, primarily using aluminum and stainless steel. You will interpret welding symbols, follow strict quality standards, and contribute to the production of high-reliability parts in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform high-quality TIG welding on small parts approximately the size of a hand for aerospace and defense products., • Weld primarily on aluminum components, with additional work on stainless steel and other alloys as needed., • Read and interpret welding symbols and technical drawings to ensure accurate weld placement and specifications., • Use appropriate welding techniques for aluminum and stainless steel, maintaining consistent weld quality and appearance., • Follow established procedures, standards, and specifications, including applicable aerospace welding requirements., • Handle, position, and secure small parts and assemblies prior to welding., • Inspect welds visually and functionally to verify quality and conformance to requirements., • Support fabrication activities that relate to welding, including fitting, tacking, and basic preparation of parts., • Lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis., • Stand for the majority of the shift while performing welding and related tasks., • Communicate clearly with supervisors and teammates to coordinate work and address issues., • Work overtime and Saturday shifts as required to meet production and customer deadlines., • Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area in a manufacturing environment. Essential Skills • Experience with TIG welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment., • Ability to TIG weld on aluminum and stainless steel components., • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and related technical information., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds., • Good communication skills with proficiency in English., • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a consistent basis., • Ability to stand for the majority of the workday., • Willingness and ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous welding experience is a strong plus but not strictly required., • Experience welding aerospace components or small precision parts., • Familiarity with welding aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium., • Knowledge of MIG welding processes in addition to TIG welding., • Experience working to aerospace welding standards such as D17.1., • Professional experience in fabrication environments, particularly aerospace manufacturing., • Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus but not required. Work Environment This position is based in a large aerospace manufacturing facility with more than 2,500 employees on site. You will work primarily on a first shift schedule, typically from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, with Saturday hours from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as needed. The role requires working on your feet for most of the day in a production setting, handling small parts and operating welding equipment. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, with a focus on safety, quality, and adherence to aerospace standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
