Job DescriptionDescription: Bayview Hunters Point Foundation: Who We Are: Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco. Our mission is to build a community that is empowered, clean, safe, and healthy. We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security. Today, BVHPF’s nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our programs include: • Mental health counseling for youth and adults, • School-based mental health services, • Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment, • Family transitional and supportive housing, • Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs, • Case management services at several homeless and housing programs, • Bayview SAFE Navigation Center These programs are funded through nearly 20 contracts with the City & County of San Francisco, and are monitored and regulated by several authorities, including CCSF and the State and Federal government. Position Overview: The Care Monitor works closely with onsite staff, providing support and monitoring of the site to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents. CareMonitor reports to the House Manager. Lunch must be on-site with paid lunch period The schedule for this position is shift-based. Day: 7:00am - 3:00pm Swing: 3:00pm - 11pm Graveyard: 11pm - 7:00am Shifts may change as needed to meet operational needs. SUMMARY The Transition-Aged Youth (TAY) Health and Wellness Center (HWC) Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational needs of the TAY HWC, ensuring the completion of all program objectives, adherence to organization and contract regulations, policies, and procedures, and the safety and cleanliness of the Center and its surrounding external area at all times. Located at 888 Post Street, the TAY HWC is a 24/7 drop-in center focused on serving homeless and disenfranchised TAY ages 18-27 seeking respite and safety and supportive services to achieve stability in the 10 life domains: food security, shelter and housing, essential life skills, primary care, community mental health, substance use support, community building, education and training, employment and economic mobility, etc. The Manager is also responsible for coordination communication and action with the City on matters affecting the site, neighbors, and partners (i.e. Lower Polk Navigation Center, HSH, DPH, etc.) as outlined in partner agreements and policies. The Center Manager is a member of the Program Leadership Team and is expected to work collaboratively across programs to share and mobilize resources for community impact and devise solutions for inter-departmental challenges. Future Grads staff will support students with the college application process and play a key role in ensuring seamless implementation of the Future Grads program. (We can assist you in getting set up for the IA exam if needed.), • Previous experience working with parents/caregivers and school day staff highly desirable., • Experience working with preschool and/or elementary age students, specifically those from diverse, multi-lingual populations., • Two years’ experience providing individual or group interventions to elementary aged students with special needs, behavioral or academic needs preferred., • Strong student/group management and conflict resolution skills - restorative practices a plus., • Excellent oral, computer & written communication skills., • Demonstrated capacity to work as a team player; excellent time management and interpersonal skills; flexible; ability to listen and respond effectively; and ability to work in a fast-paced school environment., • Spanish speaking preferred but not required.RESPONSIBILITIES, • Plan and prepare academic or social emotional lesson plans for individuals or small groups based on their academic/social/emotional needs., • Lead activities that support the needs of the students., • Work with caregivers and school day staff to ensure student’s needs are being met in afterschool., • Participate in staff meetings, COST meetings and parent meetings., • Support student integration with other students and/or programming., • Participate in specific trainings based on the population being served., • Assess student needs, document services and evaluate progress., • Communicate to parents/school day staff about student’s needs and progress., • Provide consultation and training to afterschool instructors about intervention strategies., • Develop supportive relationships with caregivers., • Create classroom curriculum for the general student population., • Ability to use a variety of strategies and resources to engage students and their diverse needs (including trauma informed and social and emotional practices).WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING, • Work hours vary depending on position and program site., • In-person program hours are approximately M, T, TH, F 2:45-6:00 p.m. and W 1:00- 6:00 p.m., • Virtual programming hours dependent on school site., • Afterschool Intervention Specialists are allotted 60 minutes of prep time per day, • Positions are from August through 2nd week in June., • Work is mostly in a school setting.
