We want you to enjoy what you do, learn quickly, aim high, and get hands-on experience—so keep reading and apply today!\n\nAbout the apprenticeship role…\n\nAs part of our team, you’ll work on a variety of design and build projects across the UK, supporting the delivery of wastewater and water network infrastructure and treatment facilities. From early feasibility design through to detailed design, construction and handover, you’ll be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle.\n\nYou’ll learn from the amazing people in our commissioning team, learning all aspects of the role and then applying your knowledge to our live projects to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards taking client information from an outline design stage and ensuring the project controls and workflow is in place to start effective delivery of the project on site.\n\nAlongside your work, you’ll study towards a Level 3 Project Controls Technician apprenticeship with our specialist training provider. This is a 36-month programme including end point assessment (EPA). As an apprentice you will work 40 hours per week both on-site and hybrid. This role is based in Derby.\n\nThis role is a September 2026 start.\n\nWhat your day could look like… \n\nGoing along to client site visits before a project starts to see how things work on site \nLearning how projects are priced and planned and helping the estimating engineers \nWorking with the Design team to understand what the project involves and how it will be delivered \nSitting in meetings (like buildability, ALM and HazOp) to see how teams plan work safely and efficiently \nLearning about health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) responsibilities \nHelping review RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) with the site team \nUsing drawings, plans and other engineering information to support project delivery \nWorking with suppliers and subcontractors to make sure designs can be delivered on site \nWorking closely with Design and Delivery teams from start to finish of a project \nSupporting the Project Manager with general admin and day‑to‑day project tasksWe give all our apprentices the equivalent of one day a week to dedicate to your studies and time to attend training with your apprenticeship provider.\n\nAbout you…\n\nYou will need the following to be eligible for this apprenticeship:\n\nMinimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at a grade 4 or above.\nIt would be good for you to have some Level 3 qualifications, e.g. – A Levels, T Level, Btec and be interested in science/engineering subjects studied.\n\nYou will need to be 18 years old + to apply for this apprenticeship due to Health and Safety restrictions.\n\nDue to the nature of the role, a full driving licence would be highly recommended. If you are currently learning to drive, we may be able to support financially towards this, dependent on meeting our criteria.\n\nThis opportunity would be a great fit if you’re confident using digital tools like Microsoft Office and enjoy working with others. We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, stays organised, and pays attention to detail. You’ll need to be comfortable working in a team and able to take initiative when working independently.
