Job Title: Clinical Lead – Homecare & Supported Living Services Location: Community-based (Homecare Packages & Supported Living Schemes) Residential Home Reports to: Registered Manager / Director of Care Quality & Clinical Governance Hours: Full-time Job Purpose The Clinical Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of clinical care across all homecare and supported living services. This role oversees clinical governance, supports risk management, ensures compliance with CQC standards, and provides expert clinical leadership to staff delivering care to adults and/or children with complex needs. The Clinical Lead will champion best practice, lead on competency assessments, oversee care planning, and act as the clinical point of escalation for service users, families, commissioners, and multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities • Provide clinical leadership and oversight across homecare packages and supported living services., • Ensure safe, competent delivery of complex clinical care and interventions., • Complete clinical assessments and contribute to reviews and complex care planning., • Lead clinical triage, incident investigation, risk escalation, and safeguarding responses., • Develop, review, and quality-assure person-centred care plans and clinical risk assessments., • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, clinical governance, and organisational policies., • Oversee audits, medication management, infection control, and clinical documentation., • Deliver clinical training, assess competencies, and provide supervision to staff., • Act as clinical liaison with MDTs, commissioners, families, and external professionals., • Support service development, including new package mobilisation and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration essential., • Clinical supervision or mentorship qualification desirable., • Additional specialist clinical training (e.g., tracheostomy, ventilation, PEG, epilepsy) is an advantage. Experience • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience., • Experience in homecare, community nursing, supported living, or complex care essential., • Experience supervising staff and managing clinical risk., • Confidence leading on safeguarding, clinical governance, and quality assurance. Knowledge & Skills. • Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements. • Skilled in clinical assessment, risk management, and care planning., • Excellent communication skills with ability to liaise with MDTs and families., • Ability to teach, mentor, and supervise staff., • Confident with IT systems, audits, and clinical documentation.
