An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family & Systemic Psychotherapist (Band 7) with generic CAMHS experience to work within a multi-disciplinary team in Harrow CAMHS. This part‑time permanent post is part of a well‑established systemic discipline where professional development and innovative work is actively encouraged. Harrow CAMHS is dynamic and friendly, welcoming new skills and ideas. It is part of Central & North West London Foundation Mental Health Trust and is committed to collaborative multi‑disciplinary work with strong links to partnership agencies in the borough. The post will be supervised by the Lead Family & Systemic Psychotherapist in Harrow Tier 3 CAMHS and line managed by the Principal/Lead Systemic and Family Psychotherapist. Harrow is a culturally diverse borough and we aim to provide culturally appropriate services to families. We are looking for an enthusiastic systemic therapist who has good CAMHS experience and can integrate quickly into a busy team. • Provide family assessments of children and young people referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources., • Formulate and implement care plans for the treatment and/or management of the child/young person’s problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and employing methods evidence of efficacy across the full range of care settings., • Be responsible for implementing a range of family therapy interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, grounded in the principles and techniques of systemic and family therapy., • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group., • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans. Provide a specialist family therapy service to children and young people with mental health problems across all sectors of care as part of a multi‑disciplinary CAMHS service. Provide specialist family assessment and therapy to service users and their families/carers and advise and consult on their care to non‑family therapy colleagues and the professional network involved in their support. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures, utilising research skills for audit to support policy and service development and undertaking research relevant to young people, their families and carers. The post holder will provide generic CAMHS assessment and intervention while also delivering specialist family therapy interventions and contributing to support plans for children and young people with learning disability, young offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, and eating disorders. They will also contribute to highly specialist assessments of children with complex mental health presentations such as ASD, OCD and Eating Disorders, support case formulation and treatment plans in line with best practice and evidence‑based interventions, and undertake parenting capacity assessment as part of a multidisciplinary court assessment service. Provide advice and consultation to non‑family therapists in the service on family therapy and systemic interventions and provide clinical supervision to trainees and non‑family therapists. Essential criteria • Post‑graduate family therapy training to MSc level or equivalent., • Post‑qualification training in additional CAMHS‑related specialised work., • Recent safeguarding children training., • CYP IAPT training., • Qualification in a core mental health or social welfare profession (e.g. social work, mental health nursing, psychology, occupational therapy) and significant post‑qualification experience., • Newly qualifies significant post‑qualifying experience working within a multidisciplinary team and preferably a CAMHS team., • Experience of working with complex cases., • Experience of delivering systemic training to non‑CAMHS professionals., • Able to deliver parent training and groups., • Fluent in an additional language., • Experience in supervising as Family Therapist., • Mental Health Assessment: Able to confidently and competently undertake generic and emergency CAMHS assessment., • Mental Health Assessment: Understands developmental issues for children and can adapt interventions accordingly., • Assessment of risk/safeguarding: Understands the need for and can competently assess risk., • Assessment of risk/safeguarding: Understands individual and service safeguarding responsibilities, policy and procedure., • Engagement: Understands the elements of effective engagement and can apply these to working practice., • Engagement: Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication., • Engagement: Able to foster strong therapeutic alliances., • Engagement: Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of CYP IAT., • Engagement: Understanding of and commitment to service user involvement, patient‑led care and choice., • Family and parenting: Understands the need for and has experience of undertaking family and parenting work as part of CAMHS support., • Cultural competence: Understands the importance of assessment that explores and considers individual cultural identity and associated support needs., • Consultation and Liaison: Experience of providing consultation and liaison support to colleagues, referral agencies and services responsible for the care, support and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers., • Psychoeducation: Able to promote self‑management and recovery by working with service users and their families to understand their condition and identify and reinforce strengths, resources and coping skills., • Interdisciplinary work: Able to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, actively engaging in and supporting duty and emergency rota’s, peer support, training and skills development., • Transition: Able to confidently and safely plan for and manage change and transition., • Professional Development: Actively uses supervision and opportunities for development of skills., • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel): Able to use Word and Excel to write reports and analyse and present basic data., • Clinical Recording Systems: Competent in the use of clinical recording systems such as SYSTMONE, understanding the process for keeping safe, secure and relevant clinical records., • European Computer., • Use of SYSTMONE., • Use of COMMIT and other related CYP IAPT recording., • Able to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy, using good communication skills., • Treats service users with respect and dignity at all times., • Enthusiastic, flexible and confident approach to working., • Able to prioritise own workload., • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and adapt to change., • Honesty, enthusiasm and a sense of loyalty., • Conducts self in a professional, courteous manner at all times and maintains professionalism in an often emotionally challenging environment., • Understands and can implement and promote the Equal Opportunities Policy at a level appropriate to the job., • Understands and can apply confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
