Quantity Surveyor - Structural Alterations We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist in structural alterations, providing innovative solutions for commercial and residential projects. Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and financial planning for structural alteration projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for structural alteration projects., • Measure and quantify materials and labour requirements, ensuring compliance with technical specifications., • Manage contract administration, including preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers., • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, identifying and mitigating cost overruns., • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimise project expenditure without compromising quality or safety., • Prepare interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts., • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure financial and contractual compliance., • Provide advice on procurement strategies, risk management, and cost-saving opportunities., • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations throughout all projects. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field., • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in structural alterations, building modifications, or civil engineering projects., • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and structural systems., • Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel)., • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills., • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Professional membership (RICS or equivalent) preferred.
