Carpenter/Joiner and General Building Operative Taskmaster Resources are looking for a Carpenter/Joiner and General Building Operative (two positions) to join a busy maintenance team at HM Prison Lincoln (Lincoln). Carpenter/Joiner Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week. There may be a requirement for weekend work on a rota basis (1 in 3 or 4). Pay rate: £20.00-£25.00ph Duties: To carry out joinery work, examples of work include making stairs, doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items. Measure and quote for works. Order materials. Maintain stock of building maintenance materials. Fit out company vehicles for other departments. To organise and plan your daily work with the supervisor, to record and submit all details of work carried out on relevant work orders. To drive a vehicle if necessary in connection with work. Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete associated paperwork. Responsible for joinery workshop maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness. To participate in the Services out-of-hours emergency standby rota when the need arises and if necessary due to contractual or staff circumstances. To complete statutory records as required. To provide technical advice where required. To undertake out of hours callout duties as per rota requirements. Skills and Experience: You will need to be honest, hard-working, reliable, trustworthy and have great attention to detail, alongside being an excellent team player. City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in joinery. Current full UK driving licence. To act at all times in a manner designed to improve the service and thereby foster good customer and public relations. To be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the duties which it places on an employee. Emergence first aid at work (HSE). Environmental awareness Tool Box talk. IOSH working safely. Manual tool handling. Ladder use. ALSO Taskmaster Resources Ltd are currently seeking to recruit an on-site General Building Operative in HM Prison Lincoln (Lincoln). General Building Operative The General Building Operative plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner. Working hours: The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place). There is a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary). Pay rate: £15.00 to £18.00 per hour The General Building Operative plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner. Duties: Work in a team to provide general maintenance tasks and support tradespeople on site. Provide a professional assistance service to those requesting support including contractor escorting duties when required. Complete tasks associated with DIY such as Decorating, hanging notice boards, building furniture, repair of items around the prison. Check appliances, fittings and general environment are in good working order and all defects reported to Team Leader. General good housekeeping, including litter picking and landscaping around the grounds if required. All other FM duties as required directed by team manager. This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract. Skills and Experience: Solid experience in DIY/ general building maintenance. CITB relevant certification or equivalent.
