We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great technical and people skills. You will be working across the Persimmon's Commercial data landscape to help deliver our data via an effective enterprise data model through to providing the business with insightful dashboards, visualisations and reports. What you'll do as a Business Intelligence Analyst Gather and compile data from various internal and external sources related to Subcontractor and Supplier spend, material quantities and forecasts, budgets, market trends and performance. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating and cleansing datasets. Design and maintain structured databases to support the efficient storage and retrieval of information. Analyse datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities related to housebuilding processes, material procurement, and vendor performance. Develop predictive models to forecast materials, project costs, and market demands. Provide actionable insights to assist the commercial team in optimising operations and enhancing profitability. Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings effectively. Present insights to stakeholders, including senior management, ensuring clarity and relevance to the commercial objectives. Create visualisations that simplify complex data and highlight key metrics for strategic decision-making. Work closely with the commercial team to understand their data needs and objectives. Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Marketing, Construction and Technical to align strategic goals. Monitor industry trends and advancements in business intelligence tools and methodologies to ensure state-of-the-art practices. Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve data accessibility, and enhance reporting frameworks. Support the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track organisational success. Opportunity to develop through internal training programmes or approved external course. What experience do I need? Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Database development skills (SQL, NoSQL, Progress, MariaDB, MongoDB). Knowledge of relational database concepts. Excellent communication skills, at all levels and experience with technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in understanding, gathering, and analysing business requirements, with an analytical mind-set and a problem-solving approach. Knowledge of modelling with data visualisation solutions (e.g. Microsoft Power BI). Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of commercial operations and market dynamics in the housing industry preferable. Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for business growth and operational improvements. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (preferably COINS, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is preferred but not mandatory. Experience working in the House Building or Construction industries is an advantage.
