Account Manager - Plant & Equipment Hire West Midlands | Field-Based An established, Industry leading Plant hire business is looking for a commercially sharp Account Manager to take ownership of a £4m+ portfolio across groundworks, civils, and housebuilding clients. What you’ll be doing: • Owning and growing a £4m revenue portfolio, • Managing key accounts while still hunting (70/30 split), • Building long-term relationships with contractors and developers, • Driving upsell and cross-sell across plant, tool, and equipment hire, • Converting warm leads and winning new business in your patch, • Working closely with ops and depot teams to deliver on service, • Taking full responsibility for margin, retention and growth What they’re looking for: • Proven background in tool, plant, or equipment hire (non-negotiable), • Experience selling into groundworks, civils, or housebuilders, • Comfortable managing large, high-value accounts, • Commercially switched on, understands margin, not just turnover The difference-makers: • Intelligent, quick to pick things up, and commercially aware, • Tenacious, doesn’t back off when it gets tough, • Fearless in front of customers and decision-makers, • Self-driven, doesn’t need chasing or hand-holding, • Likeable, someone people want to do business with What’s in it for you: • A strong, established customer base with real spend, • Autonomy to run your territory properly, • Clear headroom to grow accounts and earnings, • Backing from a well-run, well-resourced operation, • Competitive salary + bonus + company vehicle If you want ownership, freedom, and the chance to make a visible commercial impact this is that role
