Finance Manager £45,000 Monday - Friday Oldham We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and experienced Finance Manager to oversee finance operations within a manufacturing facility. Finance Manager Skills, Experience, and education required: • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) (Desirable), • Previous experience as a Finance Manager, • Proven experience in a manufacturing finance role (Desirable), • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing KPIs, • Experience preparing management accounts and budgets, • Good working knowledge of UK VAT and payroll, • Experience with ERP systems (Desirable) Finance Manager Key Responsibilities and Duties: Financial Control & Reporting • Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, • Manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with UK accounting standards, • Maintain robust financial controls and procedures Manufacturing Finance & Costing • Manage product costing, standard costing and margin analysis, • Monitor manufacturing variances (materials, labour, overheads) and investigate discrepancies, • Support operational teams with cost control, efficiency improvements and waste reduction, • Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations and cycle counts Cash Flow & Working Capital • Manage cash flow forecasting and daily cash position, • Oversee credit control, accounts receivable and accounts payable, • Monitor working capital, including inventory levels and supplier payment terms Payroll • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, • Ensure payroll complies with UK PAYE, NIC, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory payments, • Maintain payroll records, including starters, leavers, pay changes, overtime, and bonuses, • Act as point of contact for payroll queries from employees, • Liaise with external payroll providers if applicable Systems & Process Improvement • Maintain and improve finance systems, including ERP or manufacturing accounting systems, • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and control, • Support implementation of new systems or reporting tools Team Leadership • Manage, develop and support the finance team, • Ensure workload is prioritised and deadlines are met, • Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
