We are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Purchasing/Stock Controller to join and lead our busy Purchasing Department on a fixed-term maternity cover contract of 1 year and 2 months, starting in July 2026. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the manufacturing sector, be a confident self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage inventories. The Job Role: • Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers and contractors, • Following and enforcing the companys procurement policies and procedures, • Sourcing refractory raw materials from suppliers globally, • Preparing purchase plans for refractory raw materials, PPE, and other miscellaneous items, • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records, • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation, • Coordinating with the production and technical departments on stock requirements and making purchases accordingly, • Ensuring all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications, working closely with the quality control team, • Providing required information for import customs clearance, • Raising purchase orders on the system and completing Goods Received Notes (GRN), • Conducting monthly stock counts and reconciling with system records About You: • Minimum of 2 years experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing sector (experience with minerals/refractories is advantageous), • Strong negotiation skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to communicate at all levels, • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with MRP/ERP systems, • Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management, • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter Package: • Salary: (depending on experience), • Hours: 40 hours per week, • Holidays: 25 days plus statutory holidays, • Pension: 5% company contribution, • Death in Service: 4 x salary JBRP1_UKTJ
