Our client is looking for dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operators to support their Physical Security Operations Centre in Sighthill North, Edinburgh. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for customer service, we want to hear from you!\n\nContract Details:\n\nLocation: 100% Office Based in Sighthill North, Edinburgh\n\nPay Rate: £15.81 per hour, Night shifts attract additional payment for unsociable hours. \n\nContract Length: Until End of December 2026.\n\nShift Type: Rotating days and nights (12-hour shifts)\n\nShift Pattern: \n\nFull flexibility required; shifts include weekends and bank holidays.\n\nBlocks of day shifts followed by night shifts, with 4-5 rest days between rotations.\n\n10 hours paid, 2 hours unpaid breaks per shift.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nIn this dynamic desk-based role, you'll be at the forefront of security operations, managing a high volume of live incidents, alarms, and inquiries across various channels, primarily via telephone. You'll be working in a busy environment handling a high volume of incidents across the estate, requiring the ability to prioritise and work at pace throughout the shift.\nYour calm demeanour and attention to detail will help ensure the safety of colleagues, customers, and property.\nThis is not a physical security or guarding role, all work is carried out from a control room environment. \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nReceive and manage inquiries via telephone, email, and IT ticketing systems.\nMonitor and respond to physical security alarms and incidents.\nHandle high volume inbound and outbound calls with professionalism.\nManage incidents from start to finish, following approved systems and playbooks.\nLiaise with colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and emergency services.\nAccurately document all incidents and actions taken.\nContribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities. \n\nWho We're Looking For:\n\n Essential Skills:\n\n- Strong customer service or call centre background.\n\n- Confident in handling high-volume telephone calls.\n\n- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.\n\n- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.\n\n- Strong IT literacy and ability to work across multiple systems.\n\n- Clear and professional communication skills.\n\n- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, especially during night shifts.\n\nDesirable Experience:\n\n- Background in security operations, alarm monitoring, or incident response.\n\n- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).\n\n- Experience in regulated or time-critical environments.\n\nIdeal Candidate Profile: \n\nCalm and resilient under pressure.\nStrong communicator with excellent customer service instincts.\nHighly organised and detail-focused.\nProactive and motivated.\nComfortable with a phone-heavy role and independent working during nights. \n\nTraining and Support: \n\nEnjoy a structured 6-week training program with classroom learning, on-the-job coaching, and buddying with experienced operators.\nOngoing senior support is available during nights and weekends. \n\nPerformance Measurement:\n\nYour performance will be assessed through SLA adherence, accuracy in incident handling, and your ability to work at pace in a high-volume environment.\n Vetting & Compliance:\n\nFull vetting required (DBS and credit checks).\nCandidates must be eligible to work in the UK.\n Why Join Us? \n\nInitial contract until December with a strong likelihood of internal movement for high performers.\nRegular permanent and contract opportunities within the organisation.\nExposure to a wider Physical Security and Operations team. \n\nIf you're ready to make a difference and be part of a dedicated team, apply now!
