Wirral Methodist Housing Association Board Member (Non-Executive Director) Remuneration: £3,000 per annum + reasonable expenses Location: Birkenhead / Hybrid Time Commitment: c. 7 Board meetings per year + quarterly committees Make a Meaningful Difference to Homes, Communities and People Wirral Methodist Housing Association (WMHA) is seeking a committed and values-driven Board Member to join their experienced governing body. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help shape the future of a long-standing, community-focused housing provider with strong local roots and a clear social purpose. We are particularly interested in strengthening the Boards capability around asset management and housing, however we welcome applications from individuals with broader strategic, governance or community-focused experience. As a Board Member, you will play a key role in ensuring WMHA remain well-governed, financially sound, compliant, and focused on delivering high-quality homes and services. What Youll Do Provide strategic direction and oversight Ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance Support, challenge and guide the Executive Team Contribute to committees and annual Board development What Were Looking For We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, and are particularly keen to hear from those with knowledge in: Asset management, property or housing Governance, regulation or community services Strategic thinking and problem-solving Social housing regulatory standards Working with tenants, residents or local communities Understanding of the Wirral/Liverpool City Region is advantageous, not essential. You will also bring: Ability to assess risk, understand complex information and ask constructive questions Strong personal integrity, confidentiality and commitment to our code of conduct A collaborative, values-led approach Commitment 7 Board meetings per year (early evening, usually Tuesday) Quarterly Committee meetings (daytime) Annual Away Day Hybrid attendance options available Full induction, training and ongoing development support are provided.
