As an Associate Solicitor within our Private Client team, you will take on a pivotal role in shaping both client outcomes and the future of the department. You will manage a diverse and often complex caseload, act as a trusted adviser to a broad client base and contribute meaningfully to the strategic growth and continued success of the team. What you'll be responsible for: • Take ownership of a broad and varied caseload of private client matters, including: wills, estate planning, and wealth preservation strategies; probate and estate administration; trust creation, structuring, and ongoing management; lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters., • Deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially astute legal advice tailored to each client’s circumstances., • Confidently handle complex, high-value, and sensitive matters with minimal supervision., • Build and nurture long-term client relationships, consistently delivering an exceptional standard of client care., • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior solicitors, trainees, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment., • Play an active role in business development, including networking, building professional connections, and contributing to marketing initiatives., • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, legal, and professional standards at all times., • Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the Private Client Department, bringing ideas and insight to drive continuous improvement., • Maintain meticulous file management, time recording, and billing in line with firm policies and procedures., • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by your Line Manager or Director. What we're looking for: • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales, with significant post-qualification experience (typically 5-8 years PQE) in wills, probate and trusts., • STEP qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable., • A proven track record of independently managing a complex and varied caseload., • Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail., • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine commitment to delivering client-focused solutions., • Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing junior team members., • Demonstrable involvement in business development and networking activities., • A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability., • The ability to perform effectively under pressure, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines., • A collaborative mindset, with a strong team-oriented approach.
