Job Title: Principal Hydrologist Ref. No.: CJD2102G26 Location: Based near Edinburgh Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 This is an exciting opportunity to join my client, a sustainably-minded, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, renowned for delivering their expertise throughout the engineering and environmental landscapes, delivering major, exciting projects across the UK. They are currently searching for a skilled, enthusiastic Principal Hydrologist, willing to lead a high-performing team and deliver on an extensive range of projects, whilst contributing to Business Development (BD) activities. You will be based near the picturesque, multicultural Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh. Benefits for the role of Principal Hydrologist include (but are not limited to): • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience), • Contributory pension scheme, • General annual leave (with option to purchase additional leave), • Regular training and mentoring, with a focus on career development, • Private healthcare scheme, • Childcare vouchers, • Lead the preparation of technical documents for submission, to include Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), etc., • Manage projects, delivering them to schedule and within budget, • Liaise closely with a range of important clients and other stakeholders, such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), etc., • Check and amend technical documents (e.g., models, calculations, reports, etc.) prepared by colleagues, • Actively identify and contribute to Business Development opportunities and activities, • A Bachelor's Degree in Hydrology or a cognate discipline, • Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM, etc.), • Extensive experience of working in a hydrological role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority) setting, • Excellent proficiency in the use of relevant software systems, including FEH, WINFAP, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, WinDES, and AutoCAD, • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skills, • An advanced qualification in a relevant discipline
