Central Recruitment is working with an organisation dedicated to preventing people from becoming homeless and supporting individuals in finding long-term, affordable and sustainable housing. Our client is currently recruiting for a Project Worker to work in the Ilford area at a service providing supported housing accommodation to clients with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping. • 37.5 hours per week, • Monday - Sunday (rota basis), • Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 and 14:00 - 22:00, • Temporary: 2-3 months (possibility of extension), • £16.24 per hour (£14.49 per hour, with £1.75 holiday pay) This is a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of individuals with a history of homelessness and support them on their path to independence. Key responsibilities: • Manage a caseload of key clients and deliver effective key working, • Complete comprehensive needs, risk assessments, risk management, and support plans, • Ensure the building meets Health & Safety standards, • Welcome new clients and provide information on the hostel and local services, • Carry out regular flat inspections, • Assess and interview referrals to ensure suitability and eligibility, • Support clients to progress to appropriate move-on accommodation and make referrals, • Work with clients to identify activities that build independence and readiness for move-on, • Deliver activities or small groups in response to client needs or wider programmes, • Prioritise safeguarding and respond to immediate client needs, • Complete incident reports and escalate concerns What we’re looking for: • Experience working with homelessness and complex needs in a hostel setting, • Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments and support plans, • Strong understanding of barriers to independence, including mental health, substance misuse, self-harm, learning impairments, and physical ill health, • Knowledge of the Strengths and Recovery model and ability to work within a Psychologically Informed Environment, • Ability to work intensively with clients, remain calm in crisis, and manage complex situations safely, • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems, • Candidates must confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: • Current valid right to work in the UK, • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise), • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60), • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
