Role: Internal Sales Manager Location: Esh Winning, Durham Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus bonus Contract Type: Permanent / Full‑Time Benefits: 20% bonus, 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, Westfield Health, Employee Assistance programme, Auto Enrolment pension, Hargreaves Rewards About the Role: Hargreaves Transport is entering an exciting phase of accelerated commercial development, supported by strong investment, a growing customer base, and an expanding operational footprint. To strengthen our commercial capability, we are recruiting an Internal Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping how we price, quote, engage with customers, and manage commercial processes across the business. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role sits at the heart of the Commercial Team and works closely with Operations, Finance and wider business stakeholders. You will own the end‑to‑end internal sales and pricing process, ensuring that quotations, pricing reviews, customer onboarding, pipeline management and bid support are delivered consistently, accurately and in line with business strategy. What You’ll Be Doing: • Conduct proactive and responsive engagement with customers to support inbound quotation requests and commercial enquiries, • Manage the full internal sales cycle, including pricing reviews, quotation preparation and pipeline follow‑up, • Lead the administration and coordination of customer quotations, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with commercial strategy, • Maintain up‑to‑date CRM records, including pipeline, activity tracking and forecasting, • Support bid development through preparation of pricing matrices, supporting documents and commercial inputs, • Oversee customer account setup, ensuring smooth onboarding and alignment with operational requirements, • Monitor and apply rate escalators, including fuel and indexation mechanisms, • Work closely with Operations to resolve customer challenges quickly and effectively, acting as the commercial team’s go‑to contact, • Identify trends, opportunities and new operating sectors through daily customer interaction, • Build strong, long‑term relationships with both existing and prospective customers, • Attend trade shows, customer events and industry forums to support commercial growth, • Provide regular reporting on customer activity, pipeline status and performance against KPIs, • Ensure all commercial processes are delivered efficiently, consistently and in line with business objectives What We’re Looking For: Essential: • Previous experience in Sales, Telesales or Account Management, • Strong knowledge of Microsoft IT packages, • Maths and English GCSE, • Full UK driving licence, • Flexible, positive approach to problem solving, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Experience working in fast‑paced, demanding environments Desirable: • Degree‑educated, • Experience in haulage, waste, aggregates or related sectors About Us: Hargreaves Transport is one of the UK’s leading bulk and low‑loader logistics providers, serving sectors including Waste, Aggregates, Chemicals, Defence and Agriculture.
