Role: Cyber Technician Salary: £42,813 to + £50,368 up to 6 % bonus, overtime and standby allowance Location: Can be based at either of our 2 sites below: Wooler (Northumberland) Bishop Auckland (Durham) On-site 5 days a week plus travel/overnight stays to other sites across the Scotland & North region as required. About The Role This isn’t your typical IT or corporate cyber role. As a Gas Operations Cyber Technician, you’ll be hands-on with the Operational Technology (OT) systems that keep the UK’s gas infrastructure running. From control systems and industrial instruments to firewalls and managed switches, you’ll work on the technology that powers Britain #cybertechnician #ukenergyjobs What You'll Be Doing • Maintain and secure critical control systems and instruments across operational sites – from large Compressor Stations to smaller Above Ground Installations (AGIs)., • Perform routine cyber maintenance and upgrades to keep systems resilient and compliant., • Back up configurable OT devices to ensure business continuity., • Manage access credentials and maintain accurate asset data., • Support vulnerability management, malware sweeps, and incident investigations., • Facilitate cyber assurance visits and assist with upgrade projects., • Keep network drawings and asset records up to date., • Participate in an on-call rota for key cyber functions., • Collaborate with the central security team to ensure readiness and compliance. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
