Key Responsibilities: • Assist with the loading and unloading of goods from delivery vehicles., • Safely perform heavy lifting tasks, utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury., • Maintain accurate inventory records and support stocktaking activities., • Prepare orders meticulously for dispatch., • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues., • Uphold a clean and organised warehouse, adhering strictly to health and safety standards.     About the Role We are looking for a skilled Carpenter / Joiner to construct, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fittings. You will work on a variety of projects, including internal and external frameworks, furniture, shop fittings, decking, and theatrical sets. The role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work from drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities • Examine drawings and specifications to determine job requirements., • Select, measure, and cut wood to specifications using hand tools and power tools., • Assemble and fix prepared wood pieces by screwing, nailing, gluing, or dowelling., • Construct frames, furniture, shop fronts, counter units, decking, theatrical sets, scale models, and templates., • Check the accuracy of work using measuring tools such as squares, rules, and spirit levels., • Maintain and repair wooden structures and fittings. Skills and Qualifications • Proven experience as a carpenter/joiner or completion of a recognised apprenticeship programme., • NVQ/SVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent work experience is advantageous., • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and tools, both hand and power tools., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications., • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills., • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and tools safely., • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
