Electrical Estimator (Control Panels & Site Works)\nDerby\n£50,000 – £60,000\n Full-time\n\nOverview\n\nWe’re looking for an Electrical Estimator to join a specialist division focused on control panels, site modifications, and installation projects within industrial and commercial environments.\n\nThis role centres around producing accurate estimates and tender submissions for a range of electrical works, including panel design and site-based installations. You’ll work closely with internal design and delivery teams to ensure solutions are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with client specifications.\n\nThe business offers a strong overall package, including enhanced annual leave, private medical cover, and long-term development opportunities.\n\nYou’ll play a key role in supporting project delivery from the earliest stages, helping shape successful tenders while contributing to continuous improvement within the estimating function.\n\nThis opportunity offers the chance to join a well-established and growing engineering business, working within a collaborative and technically driven environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProduce accurate estimates and tender submissions for control panels and site-based electrical works\nCompile component specifications and pricing in line with client requirements\nReview and interpret technical specifications and drawings\nSupport the tender process alongside internal sales and design teams\nEngage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain relevant cost information\nAttend site visits and surveys where required during the tender stage\nEnsure all estimates and documentation meet quality, safety, and company standards\nContribute to continuous improvement and efficiency within estimating processes\nMaintain strong attention to detail to ensure commercial accuracy and margin protectionRequirements\n\nProven experience in electrical estimating (ideally within panel build, controls, or similar environments)\nStrong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation practices\nExperience producing tender submissions and cost breakdowns\nAbility to interpret technical drawings and specifications\nCommercial awareness with the ability to produce accurate and competitive estimates\nComfortable liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders\nRelevant electrical qualifications or background preferredAbout You\n\nStrong blend of practical and theoretical electrical knowledge\nDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organisation\nCommercially aware and capable of understanding project cost drivers\nConfident making informed decisions based on both design and real-world application\nProactive and collaborative in approach\nMotivated to develop technical knowledge and progress within the businessPackage\n\nSalary: £50,000 – £60,000 (flexible depending on experience)\n35 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing to 38 days with service\nOption to convert additional leave into pension contributions\nPrivate medical insurance (with option to add family cover)\nStandard working hours with potential flexibility depending on role requirements\nClear opportunities for training, development, and long-term progression\n\n INDP
