Job title: Process Operator\nLocation: Edinburgh\nContract Length: 12 months\nWorking Hours: 4 on 4 off (2 day, 2 night) (Every 10 weeks, 18-day break)\nPay Rate: £26.67 p/h \n\nJob overview\n\nTo operate pharmaceutical plant to manufacture bulk pharmaceuticals, intermediates and other chemical products in accordance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) and Health and safety practices\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTo perform chemical reactions according to batch sheet and process instructions as requested.\nTo recognise key reaction criteria and notify a Supervisor or Shift Manager of any unusual signs.\nTo record process changes and notify a Supervisor or Shift Manager where appropriate.\nTo operate equipment and conduct all plant operation and activities according to good manufacturing practice (cGMP), complying with current SOP's and appropriate health and safety precautions and Controlled Drug regulations.\nTo carry out material handling duties as necessary for the operation of the Production plant.\nTo operate mechanical and electro-mechanical material handling equipment as required.\nTo weigh and check weigh materials and containers and record the weight as appropriate.\nTo dispense liquids to and from drum stocks and bulk supplies and to record the quantities dispensed.\nTo perform and record cleaning procedures for vessels and plant as appropriate in accordance with cGMP. To carry out material handling duties as necessary for the operation of the Production plant.\nTo clean drums, tanks and other containers for disposal or reuse.\nTo wear appropriate protective clothing for personal protection and protection of the product from contamination.\nTo exercise an appropriate degree of care in the handling of hazardous materials.\nTo record and maintain full and accurate process records as required.\nTo ensure that waste materials, or waste streams for analysis or otherwise are appropriately handled and labelled.\nTo carry out in process sampling and in process testing as required.\nTo assist with the operation of plant and equipment in the introduction of new products and the development of existing processes.\nTo carry out on plant/process training of operating staff where directed by supervisory staff.\nParticipate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities on site.\nTo conduct any other reasonable tasks as required by Supervisor Staff.\nTo carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.Qualifications/ knowledge/experience\n\nA Diploma in Process Technology is desirable.\nExperience in a fine chemical or related processing industry would be desirable, but not\nessential, as training will be given.\nExperience of working within a cGMP environment preferred.\nAbility to prioritise workload.\nTeam player but able to work alone as required.\nAbility to follow instruction through written procedures.\nSafety AwarenessGuidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
