Teconnex UK are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships across the automotive and industrial sectors. This role will focus on building strong OEM and Tier 1/Tier 2 relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and managing the full sales lifecycle—from opportunity identification through technical engagement, commercial negotiation, and successful business closure. The position combines 50% new business development and 50% growth and development of existing key accounts. Key Responsibilities New Business Development & Market Expansion • Identify and develop new business opportunities across automotive, truck, off-highway and selected industrial markets, • Explore emerging markets and determine best product–market fit, • Identify new applications, products and revenue streams, • Develop and execute customer-specific sales strategies, • Build a strong pipeline of new opportunities aligned with strategic growth plans OEM & Tier Relationship Management • Develop strong relationships with OEM and Tier 1 / Tier 2 customers, • Manage and expand newly established OEM relationships, • Conduct regular customer visits and manage senior-level interactions, • Build long-term relationships across Purchasing, Engineering and Program teams, • Manage the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to business closure, • Progress opportunities through technical evaluation and proposal stages, • Work closely with engineering and internal sales teams, • Support preparation of quotations, bids and tenders Technical Sales & Proposal Management • Lead discussions around technically complex solutions and applications, • Understand customer requirements related to technical specifications, pricing, volume and logistics, • Coordinate with global teams for testing, validation and customer trials, • Prepare RFQs and commercial proposals, • Lead negotiations covering:, Pricing and payment terms, Material surcharge agreements, • Long-term supply agreements (LTSA) and NDAs and commercial contracts, • Ensure agreements meet company margin expectations and risk policies, • Develop and execute a clear sales plan with defined targets and track sales pipeline and forecasting, whilst developing Customer Roadmaps for strategic accounts About You • sales experience within automotive, aerospace or industrial sectors, • Proven experience selling to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, • Strong network within European automotive markets, • Experience selling technical solutions, engineered products, or bespoke concepts, • Strong technical sales capability, • Excellent commercial negotiation skills, • Ability to manage complex sales cycles, • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management, • Bachelor’s Degree (required), • MBA or equivalent (preferred) Why Join Us? • Opportunity to work with global automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers, • Strategic role supporting long-term business growth, • High autonomy and ownership of customer relationships, • Candidates based in the UK or Europe No agencies please
