A long-established UK manufacturer of specialist filling machinery is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to manage and grow a well-established territory across the midlands and theSouth of England. The company has been trading successfully for over 100 years, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and technical support across a range of sectors including food, chemical, industrial, and personal care. Due to an upcoming retirement, this is a great opportunity to join a stable business with a turnover of approx. £20m per year and take ownership of a diverse customer base, from artisan producers to major manufacturers. The Role • Covering the South of England (Midlands-based ideal), • Area turning over £700k and looking to increase to £1m, • 70% account management, 30% new business development, • Engage with decision-makers across production, operations, and technical teams, • Conduct site visits and live demonstrations to advise on tailored equipment solutions, • Represent a trusted UK manufacturer with a strong, loyal customer base, • Report on monthly sales activity and manage your own pipeline, • Supported by in-house technical and engineering specialists The Candidate • Background in technical sales of capital or industrial equipment, • Strong mechanical engineering aptitude or qualifications (apprenticeship or degree ideal), • Experience in packaging machinery, filling systems, or related equipment is a bonus, • Confident communicator with a consultative sales approach, • Strong territory management and client relationship skills, • Comfortable working independently from a home base, • Energetic, self-motivated, and commercially astute The Package • Basic Salary: Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience), • Commission: Uncapped, with realistic earnings of £70k, • Company Car, • Pension: Up to 5% employer contribution, • Laptop, Mobile Phone This is a fantastic opportunity to take over a warm, active region for a business that values long-term relationships and engineering integrity.
