Structures Site Agent – Permanent Role Sector: Civil Engineering Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire engstaff-In is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for an experienced Structures Site Agent to join a major highways infrastructure project in Oxfordshire. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity offering involvement in a high-profile scheme with significant responsibility on site. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and budget expectations. Key Responsibilities • Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to Site and Section Engineers, • Assist with the coordination and execution of construction works, • Work closely with the Project Manager to allocate labour, plant, and materials, • Contribute to short- and long-term project planning, • Prepare and review method statements, work packages, and site documentation, • Track progress against programme targets and cost plans, • Maintain strong collaboration with planning teams to ensure accurate scheduling, • Oversee subcontractor performance and supplier engagement, • Ensure all contractual obligations are understood and adhered to, • Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation, • Uphold strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, • Attend and contribute to regular site meetings and briefings, • Keep detailed site diaries and daily activity records, • Support project completion activities, including final reporting Essential Requirements • Proven experience in a Site Agent or similar role within civil engineering, • Strong technical understanding of structural works, • Working knowledge of NEC contracts, • Relevant qualification (HNC or above in Civil Engineering), • Excellent communication and organisational skills, • Strong commitment to health & safety standards, • SMSTS certification, • Previous involvement in highways or major infrastructure projects, • Experience managing sections of large-scale schemes, • Strong planning and coordination abilities, • Temporary Works Coordinator training, • CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting Operations), • Familiarity with AutoCAD This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure development while progressing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
