We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team at our Carlisle facility. This role sits at the heart of our manufacturing operation. You will build, wire, test and inspect electrical control panels, looms and sub-assemblies that support our specialist door systems. Your work will directly impact the safety, quality and performance of our products. The role is primarily factory based, with occasional involvement in site installation, commissioning or service support when required. About the role You will: • Build and wire electrical control panels and assemblies from schematics and technical drawings, • Produce wiring looms and cable assemblies to defined quality and safety standards, • Carry out electrical testing, fault finding and rectification, • Complete build, inspection and traceability documentation accurately, • Work closely with engineering, production and quality teams to meet project schedules, • Contribute to continuous improvement and support apprentices or less experienced colleagues About you You are an experienced electrical engineer from an industrial or manufacturing environment who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in doing things properly. You are comfortable working independently from drawings and specifications, but you also value teamwork and clear communication. You work safely, methodically and with attention to detail, even when priorities change or pressure increases. A sense of humour will not hurt. Engineering is serious. People need not be solemn. Essential experience and qualifications • Time-served electrical apprenticeship or relevant Electrical NVQ or BTEC, • BS7671 18th Edition, • Minimum three years’ experience in an industrial or engineering environment, • Proven experience in low voltage AC and DC panel wiring and electrical assemblies, • ECS card You must be willing to undertake additional training as required, including IOSH Working Safely, ECS, industrial door qualifications, work at height and asbestos awareness.
