Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their friendly finance team. This role will have a strong focus on Sales Ledger, while also supporting the wider finance function including Purchase Ledger, payroll administration and month-end processes. Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities: • Accounts Processing: Handle all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management., • Sage 50 Cloud Expertise: Utilise Sage 50 Cloud to manage and record transactions, run reports, and maintain accurate financial records., • Invoicing and Payments: Process sales and purchase invoices, track payments, and ensure accuracy in supplier and customer accounts., • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements., • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports., • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts regularly and ensure accurate financial reporting., • Payroll Support: Provide support in payroll and related processes as required., • Project Support: Work closely with the project management team to track costs, ensure accurate project invoicing, and maintain up-to-date financial records for ongoing M&E projects., • Ad Hoc Financial Tasks: Assist with various other accounting and administrative duties as needed, including filing, reporting, and responding to accounts-related queries. Accounts Assistant Skills and Qualifications: • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, ideally with 2-3 years in a similar role., • Strong experience using Sage 50 Cloud for financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation., • AAT, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (or working towards)., • Experience with M&E project-based accounting would be a plus., • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment., • High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work and problem-solving., • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications., • Excellent communication skills for liaising with both internal teams and external clients/suppliers., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently., • A proactive and positive attitude towards tasks and challenges.
