An innovative design studio based in Greenwich, London, renowned for its rich materiality, extraordinary craftsmanship, and multi-layered narratives, is looking to appoint a Senior Designer to join the team. The studio’s work spans fine art, design objects, new material creation, luxury interiors, and prestigious brand collaborations, and is celebrated for its collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit. This is a key creative role offering the opportunity to lead a diverse range of projects from origination through to fabrication and final delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a strong creative voice, a deep understanding of material processes, and the ability to guide complex ideas from concept to production. Working closely with the Creative Director, Head of Design, and wider design team, the Senior Designer will take a central role in shaping the creative direction of the studio’s output, while also mentoring and inspiring junior designers. The role will also include client-facing responsibilities, and the successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both conceptual and detailed design stages and be confident in Rhino. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated designer with the potential to grow into a Creative Director role. Part I/II and qualified architects who are interested in working in a new environment, exploring new media, and focusing more on design rather than traditional built architecture would suit this role. You’ll be able to use your Rhino skills to create narrative-driven pieces, where you’ll see a faster turnaround from design to completion. The work is meaningful and personal, and the studio has strong connections with the clients they collaborate with. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and development of both self-initiated and commissioned projects from concept through to final fabrication., • Drive idea generation with originality, innovation, and strong visual storytelling., • Translate abstract ideas into compelling, buildable design proposals., • Guide and shape the output of the studio’s talented design team., • Produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and visualisations with precision., • Engage directly with clients, collaborators, and fabricators., • Operate confidently within a fast-paced, hands-on, and material-led studio environment., • Champion a studio-wide culture of creative excellence and collaborative working. Skills & Experience • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a relevant creative industry., • Excellent hand sketching and concept development skills., • Advanced proficiency in Rhino, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Suite., • Proven ability to take ideas through iteration to detailed design packages for manufacture., • Demonstrated leadership in team environments, with an ability to elevate the work of others., • Strong time management, organisational, and communication skills., • Deep knowledge of materials and how things are made, with attention to detail and finish. Desirable • 7+ years’ experience, including team leadership or studio management., • Advanced knowledge of ZBrush, Blender, AutoCAD., • Experience liaising with clients, manufacturers, and suppliers., • Existing relationships within fabrication and material supply networks., • Additional creative skills such as sculpting, painting, graphics, or physical prototyping.
