Fine art and specialist logistics is one of the most fascinating corners of the transport world — one day you're planning the safe collection of a gallery installation, the next you're routing a fleet across the country for a high-value relocation. No two weeks look the same, and the work genuinely matters to the clients who trust you with it. \n We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, specialist logistics operator for a Transport Logistics Supervisor to join their transport leadership team. This is a desk-based, planning-heavy role at the heart of the operation — you'll be the person keeping the wheels turning (literally) behind the scenes. \n You don't need art industry experience. What you do need is genuine transport and logistics know-how, and — most importantly — real confidence managing drivers and crews. \n What you'll be doing: \n\n • Managing rotas and availability for 15+ drivers and technicians, scheduling collections and deliveries and keeping resources optimally allocated\n, • Planning and coordinating weekly domestic logistics activity, with the flexibility to adapt when plans change at short notice\n, • Providing phone support to drivers on the road and acting as a calm, capable point of contact when things go sideways\n, • Monitoring driver hours, CPC compliance and holiday/timekeeping alongside line managers\n, • Coordinating vehicle servicing, MOTs and workshop visits\n, • Assisting with import/export customs processes for cross-border jobs\n, • Building strong client relationships, providing quotations and follow-up\n, • Working closely with Projects, Shipping, Customs and Warehouse teams, plus supporting recruitment and onboarding of new drivers\n\n What we're looking for: \n\n • Proven experience in transport, fleet planning, logistics or distribution\n, • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience\n, • A proper grafter — hardworking, hands-on and happy to get stuck in rather than just delegate\n, • Someone who can confidently manage a wide range of driver personalities: give clear direction, hold people accountable, and stay unflustered under pressure\n, • Excellent UK geographical knowledge\n, • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach\n, • A proactive problem-solver, comfortable thinking on your feet\n, • Comfortable being contactable by mobile/WhatsApp outside normal hours for urgent driver queries — this isn't routine out-of-hours working, just being reachable when genuinely needed\n\n What's on offer: \n\n • £40,000 salary\n, • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch) — no weekend working\n, • A genuinely varied, fast-paced role at the centre of a specialist logistics operation\n, • The chance to join a close-knit transport leadership team where your planning and organisation make a real, visible difference\n\n If you're a transport professional who thrives on keeping plates spinning, loves a challenge, and wants to bring that skill into a genuinely interesting corner of the logistics world — we'd love to hear from you.
