Job Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Procurement Counsel to support a leading New York City healthcare organization. This position will play a critical role in advising on complex procurement, technology, vendor, and commercial contracting matters across a large, dynamic enterprise. While experience within healthcare is highly desirable, we are also interested in attorneys with strong backgrounds in technology transactions, commercial contracting, procurement, vendor management, public sector contracting, or highly regulated industries who are looking to apply their expertise within a healthcare environment. Location: New York, NY (Downtown) Schedule: Hybrid | 4 Days Onsite (Monday-Thursday), Remote Fridays Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Compensation: $85+/hour Position Overview This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of procurement and contracting matters supporting technology, operations, supply chain, professional services, and strategic business initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted legal advisor, helping stakeholders navigate complex commercial transactions while managing risk and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities Commercial Contracting & Procurement Support • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including:, • Software and SaaS agreements, • Technology and cloud services contracts, • Data privacy and data sharing agreements, • Professional services agreements, • Consulting agreements, • Vendor and supplier contracts, • Procurement and purchasing agreements, • Structure and negotiate contract terms to align with organizational objectives and risk tolerance. Legal & Strategic Counsel • Serve as a key legal advisor on procurement, sourcing, and vendor management initiatives., • Provide practical guidance regarding contractual obligations, business risks, and compliance requirements., • Support internal stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle. Risk Management & Compliance • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, operational, and contractual risks., • Advise on applicable regulatory, privacy, and compliance considerations., • Assist in developing and improving procurement policies, procedures, and contract governance practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner closely with procurement, finance, technology, operations, compliance, and executive leadership teams., • Deliver responsive and business-focused legal guidance to support strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations., • Collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholder groups. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school., • Active New York State Bar admission required., • 4+ years of experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts., • Strong experience with procurement, vendor, technology, SaaS, professional services, or complex commercial agreements., • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple negotiations and priorities simultaneously., • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills., • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting healthcare organizations, hospitals, health systems, life sciences companies, or other regulated industries., • Familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, healthcare privacy requirements, CMS regulations, or healthcare vendor contracting., • Experience with public sector, government, or quasi-government procurement processes., • Background handling technology transactions, cloud services, cybersecurity, data privacy, and information security agreements., • Experience developing or enhancing procurement and contract management processes.
