Job DescriptionEnergy & Infrastructure Transactions Associate Attorney Location: New York, NY Salary: $225,000–$435,000 Direct Counsel is seeking an Energy & Infrastructure Transactions Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm's Energy & Infrastructure practice in New York. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly power generation and transmission. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated transactions involving project acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments, project development, and financings. The role offers significant exposure to complex energy and infrastructure matters and requires strong transactional skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and attorneys across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities • Represent clients in sophisticated energy and infrastructure transactions., • Advise clients on acquisitions and dispositions of energy and infrastructure projects and portfolios., • Support equity investments in energy and infrastructure projects., • Assist with the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects., • Conduct and supervise legal due diligence., • Draft and negotiate principal transaction agreements and ancillary agreements., • Coordinate with specialists across tax, environmental, real estate, regulatory, and other relevant disciplines., • Manage transaction timelines and coordinate closing processes., • Work closely with partners, associates, clients, and other transaction professionals., • Analyze complex legal and commercial issues and provide practical, business-oriented advice., • Manage multiple transaction workstreams and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications, • J.D. from an accredited law school., • Mid-level transactional experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly power generation and transmission., • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, equity investments, project development, and/or financings., • Experience performing and supervising due diligence., • Strong experience drafting and negotiating principal and ancillary transaction agreements., • Experience coordinating with specialists, including tax, environmental, real estate, and regulatory counsel., • Experience managing transaction closings., • Excellent academic credentials., • Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and oral communication skills., • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills., • Ability to work collaboratively with partners, associates, clients, and specialists., • Active New York Bar admission required.Compensation & Benefits, • Competitive base salary of $225,000–$435,000, depending on experience and qualifications., • Comprehensive benefits package., • Eligibility for a discretionary performance bonus., • Opportunity to work on sophisticated energy, infrastructure, and project finance transactions., • Exposure to complex acquisitions, dispositions, equity investments, project development, and financings., • Collaborative environment with opportunities to work closely with experienced attorneys and sophisticated clients.
