Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Paid time off The PRP Counselor provides psychiatric rehabilitation services to adults with serious mental illness in accordance with Maryland Medicaid PRP regulations and guidance from the Maryland Department of Health. Services are delivered in a person-centered, recovery-oriented manner to support independent living, community integration, symptom management, and improved functional outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct Client Services • Provide psychiatric rehabilitation interventions as outlined in the clients Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP)., • Assist clients in developing skills related to:, • Activities of daily living (ADLs), • Medication self-management (education and support only), • Social skills and interpersonal communication, • Community integration and natural supports, • Coping strategies and symptom management, • Deliver services in approved settings, including:, • PRP facility, • Client residence, • Community-based locations (as authorized) Assessment & Treatment Planning • Participate in intake assessments and eligibility verification., • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and update IRPs., • Ensure services are medically necessary, goal-directed, and measurable. Documentation & Compliance • Complete timely, accurate, and Medicaid-compliant documentation, including:, • Progress notes, • Attendance logs, • Skill-building documentation, • Maintain records in accordance with COMAR, Medicaid, and agency policies., • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance activities. Collaboration & Communication • Coordinate with therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, and other providers., • Communicate professionally with clients, families (as authorized), and community partners., • Attend team meetings, supervision, and required trainings. Professional Conduct & Ethics • Maintain client confidentiality (HIPAA and Maryland standards)., • Practice within scope of training and licensure/certification., • Uphold ethical standards and agency policies at all times. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or GED (minimum), • One (1) year of experience working with adults with serious mental illness, • Ability to pass:, • Criminal background check, • Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services (APS) checks (if applicable), • Preferred Qualifications, • Bachelors degree in:, • Psychology, • Social Work, • Human Services, • Behavioral Health or related field, • Prior experience in a Maryland PRP or Medicaid behavioral health program, • Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care, • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, • Understanding of psychiatric rehabilitation principles, • Strong documentation and organizational skills, • Ability to engage and motivate clients, • Effective verbal and written communication, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Physical & Work Environment, • May require standing, walking, or transporting materials, • Ability to work in office, residential, and community settings, • Flexible scheduling may be required based on client needs, • Compliance Statement This position must comply with all applicable Maryland Medicaid PRP regulations, COMAR requirements, and policies established by the Maryland Department of Health.
