Job Description The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) will plan, coordinate, and provide and facilitate an array of services (family, community service, community building, social, and educational) to residents in order to improve their stability, quality of community life, work readiness, and wellness. This includes a mix of traditional case management, skills education, coordination of programming, and advocacy duties. The RSC will work closely with POIC staff and community partners to provide engaging and informative programming for residents. Essential Duties • Provides person and community-centered support to residents of Albina One and Paramount Apartments., • Enhances community health and broadly promotes health, wellness, and resident stability by conducting ongoing needs assessments, building relationships, and facilitating resident programming. Establish contact with new residents in person, and welcome new residents to the community. Explain the Residence Services program and the role of the RSC in helping support residents. * Identify, assess, develop, and manage partnerships with local community organizations and internal POIC partners to provide programming and support services related to nutrition, community building, employment, parenting, successful tenancy, wealth building/financial literacy, civic engagement and empowerment, healthy relationships, leadership, self-esteem, and youth focused topics. * Assess needs of individual residents and provide information and referrals to residents in need of assistance. When needed, serve as liaison between tenants and area service providers/partners. * Assess needs of property’s residents to plan, organize, and implement on-site events which focus on health and wellness, youth engagement, community resource education, and community building. Facilitate quarterly tenant meetings in coordination with property management. * Create, develop, and implement community initiatives designed to promote community livability, and assist participants in building informal support networks with other tenants, neighbors, family, friends, and the community. * Create and implement participant initiatives designed to promote and build leadership and inclusion in the development of the community. Support participant and community councils, activity committees and other participant and community driven activities. * Perform community outreach functions such as creating flyers, conducting door to door surveys, or planning and implementing events designed to bring together residents, expand public awareness and encourage participation in programming. * Communicate professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds * Coordinate with property management staff around issues related to residents’ concerns and overall stability, culture, and needs of property’s residents. * Keep abreast of community resources and process for accessing those resources, particularly those pertaining to accessing medical services and transport, rent and utility assistance, and mental health services. * Maintain knowledge of Oregon Fair Housing laws and industry standards for confidentiality. Utilize this knowledge in daily practices. * Respond promptly to residents’ questions, inquiries, and concerns. * Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. * Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. * Respectfully takes direction from manager. * Maintain participant logs in designated databases, confidential files and case notes. Perform other data entry/record-keeping functions as directed. * Other duties as assigned. Experience/Education High school diploma or equivalent. Education, training, or experience related to working with a diverse population around resource navigation and/or program development and engagement. This position requires advanced knowledge, skill, ability, and experience working with the Black/African American community including an understanding of the traditions, values, and customs of this community. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations The following licenses, training, or certifications (or ability to obtain them within a specified timeframe) are required for this position: First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 3o days of hire; Complete Narcan/Emergency medical response training within 30 days of hire; A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that meets the organization’s underwriting criteria.
