Position Overview The Fine Dining Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items to Valentino Ristorante Italiano’s culinary standards, ensuring exceptional presentation, consistency, quality, and food safety. This role requires strong technical cooking skills, organization, teamwork, urgency, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced fine dining environment. The ideal candidate has experience in upscale or fine dining kitchens, a strong understanding of classic cooking techniques, and a passion for authentic Italian cuisine. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Execution • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to Valentino Ristorante Italiano’s recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations, • Execute dishes with consistency, timing, precision, and attention to detail during service, • Prepare mise en place efficiently and thoroughly before each shift, • Ensure all ingredients are prepped, organized, and ready for service, • Maintain excellence in portioning, seasoning, temperature control, and final presentation, • Support multiple stations as needed, including sauté, grill, pasta, garde manger, or prep Quality Standards • Maintain the highest culinary standards in flavor, presentation, and consistency, • Inspect ingredients for freshness, quality, and proper storage, • Follow established recipes and plating specifications, • Ensure dishes leaving the kitchen meet fine dining expectations Kitchen Operations • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout service, • Communicate clearly and professionally with chefs and kitchen staff, • Work effectively under pressure during high-volume service periods, • Assist with inventory rotation, stock organization, and minimizing waste, • Support receiving and proper storage of deliveries Food Safety & Sanitation • Follow all health department regulations, sanitation protocols, and food safety standards, • Practice proper food handling, labeling, storage, and temperature monitoring, • Maintain strict cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and kitchen tools, • Contribute to a safe and professional kitchen environment Team Collaboration • Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest experiences, • Support kitchen efficiency and service flow, • Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, accountability, and reliability, • Assist with training or mentoring junior kitchen staff when appropriate Qualifications • Previous experience in fine dining, upscale restaurants, or high-quality culinary environments preferred, • Experience with Italian cuisine strongly preferred, • Strong knife skills and understanding of classical cooking techniques, • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen, • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices, • Ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional quality standards, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic, • Culinary school training is a plus, but not required Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: • Passionate about food and hospitality, • Detail-oriented and quality-driven, • Calm under pressure, • Reliable and punctual, • Highly organized, • Team-oriented, • Fast, efficient, and disciplined, • Committed to culinary excellence Why Join Valentino Ristorante Italiano? • Opportunity to work in a refined culinary environment, • Be part of a team committed to authentic Italian excellence, • Professional growth and skill development, • Collaborative and high-standard kitchen culture, • Opportunity to contribute to memorable guest dining experiences
