Social Content Lead & Creator \n PEScience | Full-time | Tampa Bay, Florida | Primarily in person \n \n PEScience is looking for a hands-on social content lead to build the next version of our organic social presence. \n \n This is not a role for someone who wants to spend most of the day managing an agency, delegating production, or presenting strategy decks. It is a senior individual-contributor role and a department of one. You will own the ideas and the operating system, but you will also make most of the work yourself. \n You should be comfortable taking a piece of content from a blank page to a published post: finding the angle, writing the hook, appearing on camera when appropriate, filming, editing, writing the caption, publishing, engaging with the audience, reviewing the result, and deciding what to make next. \n \n PEScience has spent more than a decade building science-driven sports nutrition products known for formulation quality and standout flavor. We have loyal customers, a broad product portfolio, and far more stories to tell than we are currently telling. Your job is to turn those raw materials into a social presence that earns attention from people who may never have heard of us. \n \n The mission \n Create a recognizable, human, platform-native social voice for PEScience and turn organic content into a consistent source of attention, trust, community, and new-customer discovery. \n \n What you will own \n\n • Develop PEScience’s organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels worth testing.\n, • Generate original ideas and build recurring content series that can produce many strong episodes, not only one-off posts.\n, • Personally concept, script, film, edit, package, publish, and repurpose most short-form content.\n, • Serve as a recurring on-camera personality for the brand while also finding and developing other credible faces within the company and community.\n, • Make products understandable and interesting to people who do not already know PEScience.\n, • Translate product launches, customer questions, recipes, education, retail moments, gym culture, and behind-the-scenes access into entertaining content.\n, • Build and maintain a practical weekly content calendar without allowing planning to become a substitute for publishing.\n, • Engage thoughtfully in comments and direct messages, surface audience insights, and turn recurring questions or reactions into future content.\n, • Track performance by format, hook, subject, audience, and series; identify what is working; and iterate quickly.\n, • Work closely with leadership, product, sales, e-commerce, athletes, and customer service to find stories and keep content accurate.\n, • Protect brand trust by understanding product claims and operating responsibly in a regulated category.\n, • Maintain an organized library of raw footage, finished assets, captions, templates, performance notes, and reusable formats.\n\n \n What success looks like \n Within the first 90 days, you will have: \n\n • Established a consistent, sustainable publishing rhythm.\n, • Built several recognizable recurring content series.\n, • Created and published meaningful volumes of original short-form content, not merely reposted or influencer-supplied assets.\n, • Developed a clear point of view on what PEScience should do more of, less of, and differently.\n, • Created a lightweight content system that connects ideas, production, approvals, publishing, community response, and learning.\n, • Established a performance baseline and a testing plan based on audience quality, retention, shares, saves, comments, non-follower reach, and business signals.\n, • Demonstrated that you can move from idea to finished content quickly with limited production overhead.\n\n Over time, success means that more of the right people discover PEScience, recognize its voice, trust its products, participate in its community, and eventually become customers. \n \n You may be a strong fit if \n\n • You have a portfolio of short-form content that you personally helped take from concept through publication.\n, • You can clearly explain which parts of each piece were yours.\n, • You have strong instincts for hooks, pacing, storytelling, humor, education, and platform-native packaging.\n, • You are credible, comfortable, and natural on camera without needing to perform like a traditional spokesperson.\n, • You can shoot strong content with a phone, simple lighting, and clean audio, and you know when a larger production is actually justified.\n, • You edit your own work fluently in tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or an equivalent workflow.\n, • You understand that a good social idea must also be producible repeatedly.\n, • You use analytics to sharpen creative judgment rather than reporting numbers after the fact.\n, • You can create within a brand voice without making the account feel corporate or turning the brand into your personal account.\n, • You move quickly, manage yourself well, and do not need a large team or budget to begin.\n, • You are interested in fitness, food, culture, consumer brands, and why people buy and recommend products.\n, • You can accept direct feedback, revise quickly, and separate your ego from the work.\n\n \n Helpful, but not required \n\n • Experience with sports nutrition, fitness, food, beverage, beauty, apparel, consumer packaged goods, restaurants, or another visually active consumer category.\n, • Experience building a recurring social series or recognizable brand personality.\n, • Experience using organic social to contribute to measurable site traffic, branded search, retail activity, lead capture, or sales.\n, • Basic photography, graphic design, motion graphics, social listening, or creator-collaboration experience.\n, • Familiarity with advertising and supplement-claim guardrails.\n\n We care much more about the quality and relevance of your work than a specific degree, pedigree, personal follower count, or number of years in a title. \n \n This role is probably not for you if \n\n • You primarily want to supervise creators, agencies, or junior employees.\n, • You consider filming, editing, publishing, or community management to be work that should immediately be delegated.\n, • Most of your portfolio was made by a production team and you cannot isolate your contribution.\n, • You prefer long campaign cycles over frequent testing and iteration.\n, • You need a large production budget before you can make something effective.\n, • You enjoy discussing social media more than making social media.\n\n \n How to apply \n Please submit: \n\n • Your resume or LinkedIn profile.\n, • Links to three pieces of short-form content that best represent your fit for this role.\n, • For each piece, tell us:\n\n\n, • The objective.\n, • What you personally did.\n, • Who else was involved.\n, • What happened after it was published.\n\n\n, • A link to a short video, no more than 90 seconds, in which you teach us something you genuinely find interesting. Phone-shot is completely acceptable. We are evaluating communication and creative choices, not production expense.\n, • A short description of one piece of content that underperformed, what you learned, and what you changed next.\n, • Confirmation that you are able to work primarily in person in the Tampa Bay area and are comfortable with recurring on-camera work as an essential part of the position.\n\n \n Please do not submit a traditional cover letter. We would rather see the work and understand how you made it. \n \n Finalists will be invited to a paid, time-boxed, job-relevant working session. We do not use candidate exercises as unpaid production or publish candidate work without a separate agreement. \n \n PEScience is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates on job-related skills and evidence. Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the application and interview process.
