Job Description Job Title: Welder Job Description This role focuses on fitting, welding, and cleaning welds to produce high-quality fabricated components and assemblies. You will use various welding techniques to build parts according to engineering drawings and specifications, working primarily with stainless steel sheet metal, pipe, tube, and related materials. The position involves assembling small parts and larger structures, performing standard and volume assembly on consistent machine setups, and ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards. Responsibilities • Fit, weld, and clean welds on components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications., • Utilize TIG welding as the primary welding process, with MIG and flux core welding as needed for specific applications., • Fabricate components from stainless steel sheet metal, pipe, tube, and related materials ranging from 18 gauge up to 1/4 inch thick., • Assemble fabricated components into larger structures, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and structural integrity., • Perform small parts work, standard assembly on the same machine setups, and volume assembly using multiple machine processes., • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and welding requirements., • Inspect finished workpieces to verify conformance to quality standards and make necessary adjustments to correct defects., • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and quality control measures implemented., • Perform regular maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety., • Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to address production requirements and resolve fabrication-related issues., • Use measuring tools, including tape measures and other inspection instruments, to verify dimensions and tolerances., • At least 5 years of relevant welding and fabrication experience., • Strong TIG welding experience with the ability to produce clean, high-quality welds., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately., • Hands-on fabrication experience, including fitting and assembling components., • Proficiency working with stainless steel materials, including sheet metal, pipe, and tube., • Ability to work with material thicknesses from 18 gauge up to 1/4 inch., • Experience using MIG welding processes (highly preferred)., • Capability to use tape measures and other basic measuring tools accurately., • Experience in a production or fabrication environment with an understanding of quality standards., • Experience with MIG welding and flux core welding processes., • Blueprint reading skills for complex fabricated assemblies., • Background in working with stainless steel in various forms, including sheet, pipe, and tube., • Ability to adapt to different assembly types, including small parts, standard assembly, and volume assembly. You will join a work-focused yet laid-back culture that values trust and minimizes micromanagement. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday with no weekend work, supporting work-life balance. Paid time off begins after the first two months and is prorated for the first year, with 40 hours in year one and 80 hours in year two, and full annual PTO allocation provided each January 1. Work Environment The role is based in a 55,000-square-foot, open-bay fabrication facility that is not air-conditioned and is equipped with large industrial fans for airflow. You will work in a production-oriented environment using welding equipment and fabrication tools, handling stainless steel materials and operating multiple machines for standard and volume assembly. Proper safety footwear is expected, supported by an annual credit toward safety shoes, and you will use your own welding gear and basic tools while following all safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Clearwater, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
