Position Summary The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for assisting the General Manager in guiding the Shift Leads and Baristas to deliver an exceptional coffee experience. You are responsible for learning and conducting most of the functions of the General Manager and acting as the Lead in the absence of the General Manager. Key Responsibilities • Involved in the hiring, training, developing, and retaining of employees, • Provides an exceptional coffee experience every time and holds team members accountable, • Develops self and team on coffee knowledge and shares it with customers, • Inspires and motivates others, • Can provide feedback; positive and constructive, and include disciplinary action when applicable, • Completes payroll in the absence of the General Manager, • Role models a high level of hospitality, • Can resolve customer concerns and quickly attend to customer incidents, • Knows all products, including ingredients, • Focuses on and coaches team members to deliver on the execution of operations, processes, and recipes, • Completes required inventories in the absence of the General Manager, • Leads team to consistently have a clean, food-safe, and well-stocked environment, • Keep a pulse on employees and store needs by partnering with the General Manager to address any concerns, • Performs all point of sale duties, front and back of house functions, including opening and closing procedures, coordinating with Management as necessary, • The ASM also supports the GM with banking and accounting responsibilities., • Ensures all cash handling procedures are upheld and is accountable for store funds while running a shift, • Assists GM in maintaining proper coverage and Team Member schedules, ensuring that the store maintains customer service standards and Team Members adhere to meal and break policy, • Will provide guidance and actively set an example for Team Members, ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures and company policies are maintained and followed, • Assist the GM in increasing profit, sales, and controlling operating expenses looking for ways to continuously improveQualifications and Requirements, • Must maintain current state-issued Food Handler Card, • Retail and/or customer service experience required, • Coffee experience preferred, • Ability to make the customer a priority, • Is hospitable and inclusive with all customers and is a team player with co-workers, • Demonstrates passion and curiosity for coffee and tea, • Builds ongoing connections with the customer, • Able to multi-task and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, • Ability to communicate effectively with others, • Respectful and professional, • Cash handling skills, • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, • The hours can be part-time/full-time based on availability and can increase and decrease due to the needs of the business., • Follow direction, • Ability to work as part of a team, • Detail oriented, • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenCompensation, • Available to all employees, • Commuter Benefits - pre-tax parking and transit, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Physical and mental health, financial and legal coaching available at no cost to the employee, • Free mental health app subscription, • Employee discount on merchandise, coffee gear, and at Equator cafes, • Continuing coffee education classes, • Free coffee, • Paid Time Off for voting on Election Day, • After 60 days as an employee at Equator, • Healthcare Benefits (for full-time employees working over 30 hours per week), • 100% employer-covered premium medical insurance, • Voluntary Insurance Plans - dental, vision, long-term disability, pet, and supplementary life insurance, • Employer covered life insurance premium, • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - healthcare and daily dependent care, • After 90 days as an employee at Equator, • Holiday Pay after 90 days of employment.
