Job Responsibilities: • Drive and transport samples and personnel around the NY Metro Area using company vehicles (Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, and similar)., • Complete all pickups and deliveries as assigned; ensure timely delivery to customers., • Keep daily/weekly driver logs and maintain mileage records., • Monitor and follow the maintenance schedule for all company vehicles., • Provide regular updates on your activities and location to the manager for work coordination., • Make daily calls to the department manager to report progress on tasks., • Pick up and deliver construction materials and equipment as needed., • Assist with office purchases and other administrative tasks., • Use navigation apps and GPS devices to find the most efficient routes; extensive knowledge of the NY Metro Area is a plus., • Interact with clients professionally and maintain positive relationships with them and inspectors., • Maintain an organized travel schedule., • Ensure vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use., • Arrange vehicle repairs and conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks. Work Environment: • You'll work on active construction sites and occasionally in a soils/concrete testing lab, so expect to get dirty and work outdoors in various weather conditions., • Tasks may include handyman/landscaping duties, coring concrete/asphalt samples, and assisting construction material and machine shop personnel. Physical Requirements: • Long periods of standing and repetitive motions are required., • Ability to use hands for tasks such as handling, climbing, balancing, crouching, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and sitting., • Good vision (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception) and sense of smell., • You may drive hundreds of miles per day and regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, frequently move 60-80 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds (like a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples). Qualifications: • 3+ years of driving experience in similar vehicles, with at least 1 year of driving experience in NYC., • Basic math skills., • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written., • Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately. Overview Remedial Construction Services, L.P. is an environmental remediation, geotechnical construction, and civil construction contractor founded in 1989. We are a national leader in environmental remediation services, including soil remediation, soil stabilization and solidification, landfill cap and cell construction, permeable reactive barriers, deep soil mixing, biopolymer trenches, slurry walls and demolition of hazardous waste sites. The Heavy Equipment Operator I - Articulated Truck Driver will safely operate heavy construction equipment to include articulated trucks for earthwork construction projects. May include operating multiple types of heavy equipment such as fuel and water trucks, front-end loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, backhoes, excavators, hoe rams, bulldozers, scrapers, compactors, or skid steers onsite to excavate, move, grade and stabilize materials in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities • Observe and comply with all company and specific site safety and project policies, • Supply input to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and frequent improvements or changes to Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP), • Operate heavy construction equipment to include articulated trucks in a safe and appropriate manner to mitigate risk of injury, property damage, and the loss of life in accordance to company policies, • Perform daily pre-inspection of equipment to ensure it's safe and fit for duty, conduct on-going maintenance checks, and manage the daily custody of construction equipment, • Conduct constant surveillance of surroundings before and during the operation of all equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions; maintain an adequate distance between other equipment, RECON team members and structures in the immediate work area, • Communicate clearly using radio contact, visible verbal, and nonverbal hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed, loaded or unloaded, • Work closely with the Foreman and Superintendent to perform work tasks with the highest level of quality, take direction from more senior level equipment operators on the team to ensure production remains on schedule and all construction work is performed safely, • May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation, • May perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, • Responsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenance, • Report all equipment maintenance issues to Superintendent, • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications • Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices, • May require the ability to read survey stakes for alignment and grading, • Perform the duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while using different levels of PPE and respiratory equipment, when necessary, • Perform duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while working in all outdoor weather conditions, • Must be able to travel over extended periods of time on short notice, • Must be able to read, write and understand math and English, • Required to pass skills test prior to operating equipment, • Must reliably show up on time to work five to seven days a week Additional Information Recon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
