Job Description We have a great opportunity for a Finance Director to join the iuvo Clinical team! The Finance Director provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership as it provides support to the Company’s various operations and business development functions to fuel growth and optimize the current business. The Finance Director serves on the Executive Committee and routinely interfaces with the Board of Directors and shareholders. This role assists the CEO in business activities spanning such duties as, financial modeling and reporting, financial forecasting and budgeting, accounting, tax compliance and audit assistance, payroll, accounts payable, and acquisition support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare and lead the budget process by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; and recommending plans., • Closely monitor achievement of budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and supporting business partners across the company., • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems., • Guide financial decisions and protect assets by monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls., • Manage and forecast cash-flow, work on improving cash-flow activities across all service functions., • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data., • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends., • Report financial results to management, employees, Board of Directors and investors, as needed., • Responsible for overseeing and managing all financial systems and system integrations., • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors., • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions., • Supervise financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA strongly preferred, minimum 8 years of experience in accounting / controllership / finance. Life science industry experience preferred. Experience working with multiple legal entities, financial reporting requirements, project work/fee-for-service financials, and Private Equity led businesses preferred. Experience with auditing, tax, accounting, controlling and corporate finance functions. Proven ability to develop budgets, cash-flow forecasts, financial statements. Experience developing various financial standards across an organization. Experience leading a department. COMPUTER SKILLS Excellent computer skills, including experience with word processing, Excel and other spreadsheet programs, Microsoft Outlook, proficiency utilizing financial ERP software such as BQE Core. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong presentation skills - must have the ability to speak effectively before senior management, Board members, employees, and external contacts (bankers, vendors, etc.). Expert ability to read and interpret documents and reports. Ability to network, build and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Strong analytical skills, ability to perform and understand complex calculations used in financial reporting and accounting. MANAGERIAL SKILLS and ABILITIES Ability to lead a team to include selection, onboarding, training, goal setting, coaching, performance monitoring, development, and discipline of direct reports. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Capacity to continuously operate within the highest standards of ethics, transparency, financial integrity, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to take a proactive approach to problem-solving using initiative and ingenuity. Strong business acumen and ability to interpret data with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Must possess excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills and demonstrate a sense of urgency to excel in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively across all levels within the organization.
