The Assembly Technician is responsible for the precise assembly, wiring, and integration of electronic components and metallic cabinets used in Econolite’s Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) products. This role involves tasks such as cable routing, wire harnessing, hardware installation, and functional testing, with a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to documented procedures. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, is mechanically inclined, and has a strong attention to detail—especially when working with electrical parts. DUTIES • Build electrical parts like wire harnesses and route cables inside cabinets., • Assemble metal cabinets by following instructions and quality standards., • Perform various hands-on tasks on the assembly line, from simple to more detailed work, with care and accuracy., • Follow all safety rules, work procedures, and company policies to keep the workplace safe and organized., • Check parts for problems and report any issues right away to help improve product quality., • Help with packing and labeling products when needed., • Support other teams or departments when extra help is needed., • Take care of your tools and keep them stored properly., • Keep your work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards., • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic and mechanical product assembly and testing preferred., • Technical training and certification preferred., • Dexterity with hand tools, hand soldering equipment, and other typical electronic assembly tools., • Proficiency in following documented work instructions and attention to detail., • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time, • Ability to handle small components and use hand tools effectively for extended periods of time., • Performing repetitive tasks such as screwing, soldering, or wiring., • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, • Safety sensitive position—will be required to work with electrical components.PRE-EMPLOYMENT All candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening. COMPENSATION The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are looking for a hands-on and motivated Electronics Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our traffic controller and cabinet production team in San Diego, CA. DUTIES: • Supervise traffic controller and cabinet production team to ensure high quality and efficient traffic products manufacturing. Provide coaching/feedback, conduct performance reviews, implement corrective actions as required to build high performing teams., • Train technicians to build and test traffic control products. Act as a mentor and coach to ensure projects and duties are completed in accordance with business needs., • Maintain high quality production with sense of urgency and customer satisfaction. Assess Production Team by evaluating work performance and ability to adhere to policies and procedures., • Delegate tasks as needed to other members of the Production Team to ensure proper completion and deadlines met., • Create, maintain, and track performance metrics for production team through ShopVue and ERP., • Represent the factory to customers and agencies by leading tours, conducting inspections, and giving confidence to customers the factory will meet and exceed their expectations., • Maintain production records and perform packaging for traffic products as necessary. Process ERP transactions for work orders, shipments, and inventory reconciliation., • Follow documented work instructions to perform electronic and mechanical assembly for traffic control products., • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic and mechanical product assembly and testing. Traffic product and / or electronics productions experience preferred., • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role., • Technical training and certification preferred., • Dexterity with hand tools, soldering equipment, and other typical electronic assembly tools., • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with peers and supervisors. High attention to detail. Ability to lift 35+ pounds. BUSINESS TRAVEL The ability to travel to the Tecate facility or other Econolite locations preferred. Responsibilities Your main tasks: In your Sergeant role, you will be responsible for all security and control related functions during your duty shift. Your goal is to provide maximum facility coordination in prisoner supervision and safety. • Supervise inmates/detainees during mealtime., • Routinely inspect all security equipment (doors, gates, fences, lighting systems, etc.)., • Ensure all reports written by officers during shift are submitted as required., • Oversee necessary on-the-job and safety training for officers., • Supervise perimeter inspection (detecting safety hazards, testing alarm systems, etc.)., • Investigate and report all instances of inmate/detainee disturbances., • Help detainees/inmates who have been injured, ill, or traumatized with prompt and appropriate assistance., • Work with inmates/detainee workers, provide training, and inspect their work., • Participate in decisions regarding performance ratings, disciplinary actions, and job assignments., • Conduct regular physical inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent certification required., • Must meet the requirements of being a Correctional Officer., • One (1) year of experience working in a correctional setting required., • Must be flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of detainees/inmates and staff, possess a working knowledge of correctional laws, applicable court orders and possess a high tolerance to mental stress., • Must have a proven work history with sound abilities to write communications, documents, policy, court room defenses, contract negotiations, and other required written correspondence., • Must be able to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions., • Ability to coordinate staffing requirements for security supervisors and officers., • Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certificate of satisfactory completion. Ability to obtain certification for training such as CPR, First Aid and firearms. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. * Must be a United States citizen.
