JOB SUMMARY The purpose of the After School Student Support and Clerk position is to provide support to the Site Director in the management of students and daily program operations. Their major function is to work with the students and staff to facilitate a professional, coordinated effort for a smooth transition between the ASSP and Instructional Day. Support the supervision and engagement of students during the program. Knowledge of: • Modern office practices, methods, and procedures., • Appropriate English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic concepts., • Has knowledge of computer software systems: AERIES, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps. Ability to: • Perform general clerical work of average difficulty with speed and accuracy., • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, • Make simple arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy., • Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner., • Type or keyboard at a net corrected speed of 45 words per minute., • Understand and carry out oral and written directions., • Equal Opportunity Employer Hear and speak to exchange and retrieve information in person and on the telephone. Ability to work independently with little direction Develop system organizations of student files, and pending records DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Sample of daily duties, not limited to the following) • Interact with the public, staff, parents, and students, answer multi-line telephone systems, and answer questions relating to the site operations with a positive and professional demeanor., • Meet monthly with the ASSP Senior Data Clerk., • Distribute/collect materials for ASSP Site Lead, Lead Tutor, and ASSP Tutors to support student and program needs., • Assist ASSP Site Lead in organizing and coordinating participation of community events and student activities., • Schedules sports, auxiliary, enrichment programs, and field trips., • Prepares payroll timesheets, attendance, and other reports as directed., • Communicates attendance and activity information with parents and students to promote positive relationships., • Handles site ASSP pupil enrollment, attendance accounting, updates information daily in AERIES, and prepares District/CDE reports., • Operates various office machines, (Riso, fax, printer, copier)., • Creates/maintains weekly sign-in/out and snack distribution rosters., • Administers medication, first aid, or CPR as necessary. (Training will be provided), • Demonstrate ability to work with community, parents, and students of diverse cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds., • Work under the direct supervision of the ASSP Site Lead w/the support of the ASSP Senior Data Clerk., • Any other duties assigned by the Extended Day Curriculum Liaison and/or the Director of Extended Day Programs., • Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as required by the Superintendent or designee, in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the district.
